? 8/11 Bubbas AMPS 399- help! I can’t remember if I gave bubbas his PM dose!

Gosh I feel so stupid!!!!! I can’t remember if I gave bubbas his PM shot! As I was using the syringe to get his insulin out, and going to give it to him, somthing in me stopped and thought “no you already gave it to him” but I can’t remember :( I’m trying to think back from when I got home to now, and I know between that time I knew it was too early, but for some reason, something in me told me I already gave him his PM shot. Should I skip today and go back to normal tomorrow? Or give him even just a little insulin like 0.25?

could he go into CKD if I miss a dose? It’s been about 20 mins past his normal insulin dose. I’m trying my hardest to remember if I gave it to him. I would feel like a piece of crap if I miss it and tomorrow morning his BS is super super high.

I just can’t believe I can’t remember! Lol I’ve had a really really really bad emotional day yesterday and today, so I’m honestly not surprised that I can’t remember. I’ve had a lot on my mind since yesterday morning so I think being stressed out made me not remember. Lol :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Update: I decided to give him 0.25 units. I figured if I did give him insulin, in total, he would have gotten 1.75 units this PM, he’s had 2 units before and did ok. I just wanted to get something in him , some insulin so his body stays on track. I will be testing him every hour for the next 3-4 hours to make sure his BS dosent drop.
 
+2 345. Definitely going up :/ I’m sure at this point I didn’t give him his normal PM shot. So he pretty much only got 0.25 units tonight :(
 
It happens to us all. Stress is awful on your body. Bubbas will be ok. Hope he is feeling better and not vomiting, saw your note on the SS....paws crossed he just had a stomach bug that he's done with. Hope you can relax some and have a good weekend. :bighug:
 
It's ok! Bubbas will be fine, and much better than getting too much insulin. As other posted, we have all been there!

When this happened to me, someone here had a great suggestion, maybe Bhooma: in the morning, before his morning shot always take two syringes out of the box for the day. Place them both in a cup.

As long as you always always do this, then you know for sure if you gave a shot or not by checking how many syringes are left in the cup.

thank you!!! :bighug: He actually threw up a tiny tiny bit threw out the night, I woke up to the sound of it. But it’s very little and it’s liquid, rather than the almost poopy looking/smelly vomit he usually does.

Yeah that’s a really good idea! I never thought about that. I will forsure start doing that!
