One step at a time. Let's get the wound healed. Please have a talk with Jupiter and let him know how important it is that he not chew the bandage!

Hi Jamie,
This is good news that the cancer has not spread. We will think very positive thoughts that Jupe is cancer free. As the others say, one step at a time. If radiation is needed, we will cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, heal that foot, Jupiter! Don't mess with the bandage!

Hugs & scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Happy dance that the cancer has not spread dancing_cat Now let's get it healed and worry about the next step later! Try to let yourself enjoy the good news!! Jupe, please leave the bandage alone!! :-D

Good news on the containment of the cancer. No spreading is good to hear. Let's get that foot healed now Jupiter.

Hi Jamie,
I wanted to quickly come by to see how the oncologist appt went.
I am so happy to hear that the cancer hasn't spread!
That's wonderful!!!
And yes, like everyone said, one step at a time is a good idea.
Let's get his wound heal first.
I think it's going to be better now that you have a better vet.
Sending lots of healing vines to Jupiter.

:RAHCAT for the no spreading news !!

More prayers and vines and all that good stuff from me and Poe to you, Dane, and Jupe !!

i feel horrible....
ive been keeping the cone on all night... and just waking up a few times to take the cone off to let him eat and then put it back on.... guess i fell asleep with the cone off... when i woke back up he had chewed it and it was halfway off. it was looking great before and now it doesnt look too good
now i am feeling like the worst bean ever

Hi guys, I just wanted to add in my oh so happy grin that the cancer has not spread!! I'm sorry you fell asleep with the cone off, but don't beat yourself up .. this has taken it's toll on you guys as well, we'll just keep praying that his foot continues to heal quickly!!

Jamie - you're exhausted. You haven't been feeling well and your stress level over Jupiter is through the roof. It's just not possible for one Bean, no matter how diligent, to watch a cat 24/7. It's just not and while you have Dane to help the lions share of Jupiter's care falls to you.

You need some good sleep. Do you have or know someone who has, a cat play pen? This might be an option to keep Jupiter safe with his cone on, while you get some undisturbed rest. Take out the ledges and make sure Jupiter can't get his cone caught in the spaces between the bars. Another option might be a large dog carrier. Just enough room for Jupiter and a litter box and some water. The less maneuvering room past the necessary items the better. He may not like it but that is secondary to your need for rest right now. I'm sure you've tried to get a friend to watch him but asking again can't hurt.

You MUST take care of yourself. If you don't you can't be there for Jupiter in the way you want to be. I ran up against this issue constantly with my Pirate Fitz. It's so easy to blame ourselves when things are not going well in the day to day care of our Furrs. But this doesn't help us or them. Truly. It doesn't.

You have been there for Jupiter in so many ways that would be beyond many Beans. Whether it's work or human family obligations or something else life throws at us , lots of Beans can't always do the things you are doing. Your love for Jupiter is a shining light for us all. I hope when you get some real sleep you will be able to see it too.

Much love and vines -
Shai and The Pirate Fitz (GA)

Been there, done that, felt similarly. I left civvie Pepper's cone off after her amputation of a rear leg (bone cancer). I was awakened to a howl that would raise the dead. She had caught a tooth on one of the staples and couldn't free herself. I had to push her head towards the wound in order to unhook her from the staples.

{{hugs}}

Jamie, don't beat yourself up. Cats will be cats. His wound will heal. I hope you can get some good rest soon. Sending prayers for you and Jupiter.

Hi Jamie. So glad that the cancer hadn't spread. That really is good news. We have Jupiter and you and Dane in our Prayers.

Have a good evening Jamie.

Glad that the cells have not spread and I hope that the wound heals nicely and that the cancer is all gone.

If you need a crate, I have a nice large one you can borrow until Jupe is better.
