The IM vetty at CSU told me to get the T4 tested every 3 months for the first year, then move to every 6 month testing. You are looking for hypothyroid, so you need more than the usual total T4 test (test for hyperthyroid) which here comes as part of the geri-panel blood tests. I also get the free T4. Talk to you vet about what is best. They very seldom see hypothyroid in cats but it's not uncommon in kitties that have had SRT. Fortunately hypothyroid is pretty easy to treat with oral meds.
