Yesterday, condo hijacked by a civie. Blue seems to be the theme these days, though I suspect a toe dip in safe greens last night.

8/9 Recap:
AMPS 141 +3 242 +9 142
PMPS 137 +3 192

Sorry, another late condo. Bean is beat again. Neko gave me safe numbers for a good sleep but I had a civie curled up by my neck with his head on my shoulder all night. At least I knew where he was.  And then I was crazy and did the later morning 12k row again.

The weather is still sunny here with a light breeze but not as hot so perfect cat weather for the solarium. Neko did have a short patrol of her domain from the deck after breffs. I made the mistake of not setting up Otto until after she'd eaten and as soon as she heard him going she wanted in to see what was happening. It's not that loud, but Neko can hear him from quite far away.

I'm seeing small signs that perhaps Neko missed Theo when he was out for his excursion. She's been sniffing him more, just keeping an eye on him.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday - be good kitties. Healing vines to all that need them, including Elise and Marje's mom, Lyresa and Amy's dad.

Hi Wendy!

Neko is looking beautiful in blue today! It's amazing how well our kitties can hear the auto feeder from a distance once they learn that the sound of it turning means fuds. That and the sound of a can opening. Sometimes, you'd swear they were deaf when you are telling them "no!" or "get out of there!", but not when it comes to food sounds!

I was also so relieved to read that Theo made his way home. That's the worst feeling in the world when one of the kitters is missing. Our guys are all strictly indoors now as we live in an apartment, but several years ago we rented a house with a fenced in backyard. Our civie Reekoe was content to hang out in the backyard and hunt bugs and chipmunks, but if you looked away for two seconds, Eddie would hop the six foot fence and be gone exploring the neighborhood. Once he took off in the dark and DH spent several hours creeping around in the yards of neighbors looking for Eddie. DH spotted him under a neighbor's deck across the alleyway, and had to knock on the neighbor's door to explain that he was not a prowler, but just a neighbor crawling under their deck to retrieve the cat.

Also, I had a reply box opened and stepped away to do something, and Eddie typed this message for Neko:

Nice low blues today for Neko. I bet you'll see some green tonight. It's funny how they can hear the can opener or auto feeder or treat bag from far away and come running.

Hi Wendy! Good to see Neko wearing blue - & you wearing a kitty to bed !

Hope all is well for you - it sounds like Theo gave everyone a scare - I'm glad he's home safe & sound now, I know how scary it is when they stay out late hunting, oblivious to everything else around them.

I just wanted to stop by & say 'hi' - I haven't been here in awhile & miss everyone.

Thanks for all your help & Take Care!

Beautiful blues and green!! I'm sure Neko missed her bruddah - has Theo at least fessed up as to where he was the night before? Naughty Theo! :-D You did 12K in this heat - you are a beast!

Well we did get a quick green touchdown today and she was fairly flat. I was hoping for a bit more from this dose. But she has another acupuncture session on Tuesday. It's been a month and the effect might be wearing off.

Neko went out after +1 dinner, and I had to practically drag her in from bug hunting or she would have missed her last Otto feeding. :o So unusual for Neko to stray far from her autofeeder when a meal is due.

My heart goes out to Anne and LIz tonight - lots of vines to Zener.

@Jen - Neko has excellent hearing when it comes to Otto. Theo is a strictly indoor cat. He was semi feral when he came to the animal shelter, where he was for 6 years, and the other time he got out the house he reverted to feral cat guy and ran away from me. As I wandered around I could occasionally see a flash of him so he wasn't going far but I couldn't catch him. Neko thanks Eddie for the message - whatever it means.

@Carla - Got an afternoon greenio today. Not sure about the night yet.

@Suzanne - I do like the low blue, but am greedy for a bit more green, just not a lot lower. Theo is not allowed out, he probably snuck out when I was carrying Neko in that night. Black cat at night. Good to see you and how well Tigger is doing.

@Ruth - Neko may have missed her partner in crime, but she won't admit it. And he's not telling. It's a lot cooler this week and I did the 12K in a quad so got to share the workload.

Thanks, Wendy! And I'm glad to see Neko is also - well, you know - I don't want to actually say it & jinx it!

A very mice - oops, I mean 'nice' - PMPS start!

Hi Wendy,

I guess Neko is happy that Theo is home. It's funny about them hearing the feeder. When I first got mine, Lovey wasn't doing as well getting around. We all couldn't believe how fast she jumped off the bed one night when the feeder went off. We at first thought she heard thunder and was running under the bed.

I think Neko has some more green in store for you tonight.

Hi Wendy:

I missed yesterday's excitement and just now got caught up. I so know how you felt. Harvey slipped out once when we were away and my cousin and her hubby were housesitting. They were loading their car to leave, and he got out without their realizing it. When he'd done it with us, he'd only gone as far as the bushes next to the porch, and was easy to catch and bring in. This time, no one knew he was out, so no one came to get him. We got home the next day and quickly realized we were one furkid short. After turning the house upside down, we canvassed the neighborhood (at 11 pm), to no avail. I did not sleep all night, Every half hour I'd go to the front and then the back door and call his name. No response. In the morning I went door to door with a picture of him. I was so worried - the house behind ours had a large pit bull. Harvey had never been outside for more than a few minutes in his life. Later that afternoon, the next-door neighbor called to say she thought he was under her deck. I got down with a flashlight, and there he was. By that time, he was so traumatized he'd gone completely feral. We managed to chase him out from under the deck, and my DH caught him as he tried to escape out the gate. I ran for the carrier as Harvey shredded poor Mark's arms! We got him in the carrier and took him home, and he was howling and growling and wild-eyed. I took him in a small bathroom and closed the door. I opened the carrier, and he flew out, literally bouncing off the walls. It took almost an hour to calm him down enough to let me touch him. It was another hour before he stopped shaking and hissing and crying. Needless to say, my cousin has not been invited to housesit again! Now we are VERY careful about watching the doors and knowing where Harvey is when they are open, but he hasn't attempted another escape since.

I'm glad Theo recovered quickly and was relaxed enough to sleep with you. I doubt he had any clue how upset you were! Perhaps Neko has told him, and that's why he was so cuddly.

I hope Neko is surfing safely for you tonight and you are getting a good sleep!
