He didn’t go too low last night. Whew! I’ve been meaning to ask you what kind of home device you bought to check his blood pressure. I have one, but I have a hard time trusting the readings that I get.

I don’t know if mine is accurate either but it was the one that was recommended on Tanya’s webpage. I got it from Amazon for $49.99. I’m planning to take it with me Friday to compare to the vet’s. He’s finally getting used to it because he knows he will get a treat if he sits still lol. The first time I tried it on him, he tried to bite me and scratched my arm.

That's the same one that I have. I asked my vet about it and she said it's so important to make sure that everything is the same each time you take the readings. I usually use the base of the tail. You can use the paw, but I have never tried it. Problem is that cat that I currently want to take blood pressure on is a "tail lasher" (Calico) and if she gets irritated, the tail is never going to stop moving. Maybe I would be better off trying the paw for her? Have a great day, Lori.

Well the dose threat didn’t work, so increase it is. I went ahead and gave him 5.5 (skinny) tonight. He usually doesn’t react quickly to an increase, but because I just said that, he probably will. I will be able to monitor anyway.

I hope Max surfs safely tonight, as I see you went ahead with the dose increase. Good job getting to use the BP monitor!

I noticed you had to give him albuterol the other day, it looked like he might have vomited? Poor guy, I am glad the rescue inhaler helped. Do you notice that it has a temporary hyperactive effect? I hope your vet has something to say about the labs and especially the lymphocytes count. Sending vetty vines :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Ruth! Max only gets that albuterol when he’s actively having an asthma attack because the albuterol does make him hyper. I worry about his heart because his heart rate also speeds up. He doesn’t usually have to get that often. Thanks for checking on us!
