Re: 8/10 Harley PMPS Hi/555 - dose tonight
Glad I caught ya! When I looked at the ss I thought you shot 3.75skinny and no R. . .
(I hope you made it a fat 3.5u)
Yes, please keep an eye on him. On his last trip to outer Mongolia that DOR brought him back to pink pretty quick!
Harley and Pattie said:
His eating pattern has not changed. He did get some karo last night to stop the hypo. Has not had any R in several days.
According to the ss, he last had R on 07/29, unless I'm not seeing it.
Pattie at this stage it's critical that somewhere on the ss you note
all R doses given, along with regular meal amounts/type (LC/MC/HC) and +hours eaten, as well as the amounts/type/+ hours of food and or karo given to guide the numbers.
I'm happy to help but I have to know what all the moving pieces are and
trust that you have given the full picture.
What you want here is to keep the Lantus doses, as well as his feeding, steady and consistent as possible, and not muddy the waters with excess R. If R is in the picture, even 3 cycles back, I would not fully trust a drop into the 40s as deserving a Lantus decrease. Because at this point, if you want them to stick, decreases should be earned based on Harleys response to Lantus alone.
Well, Harleys liver got really PO'd!
Don't let that ugly number get you down. Look at the slightly bigger picture. Harley just had 40+ hours of green/blue/yellow. In looking at the last 2 weeks, that's a record. That, combined with the drop to the 30s last night makes sense that his liver freaked out. His liver does need some serious training, however you have to be vigilant about keeping him from going too low. Even if it means aborting a fast dropping cycle sometimes to let you sleep,
Based on the info provided on your ss, I recommend that you wait out any red or pink bounces at this stage. Use the recovery time to catch up on your rest. I think if you keep working it the recovery time will become shorter and shorter and the bounces less severe..
