@JuliaandFiona
Hi Julia I just happened to come across your post and saw Fiona has stage 2 kidney.
I just wanted to let you know that cats with kidney disease should have low phosphorus wet food. Tyler's brother had kidney disease , unfortunately he passed 4 years ago

Don't know if your kitty likes pate but here is the list of the BFF line.
YOU WANT CARBS UNDER 10% AND PHOSPHORUS IDEALLY LOW 200's OR LESS

If you look at the Food Chart you will see that the FF and Friskies are too high in phosphorus

Thank you. Yes she has KD. It is in the very beginning. Her numbers look good and the vet said they are not too worried about that right now and to get the diabetes under control.
I have tried all the weruva foods unfortunately and she literally went on an eating strike. It was rough. She was a dry kibble eater and Sheba wet food for her entire life until the KD diagnosis last year. They put her on the prescription KD food which at the time I did not know it was high in carbs. Then on July 14 of this year she was diagnosed with diabetes. I have a strong suspicion that it was caused by the prescription food. So here we are and she’s eating the FF pate and actually eating it. I had another member tell me about the phosphorus binders if someday I need it, but her levels are low right now. Hopefully they stay that way.

I'm glad her levels are low , these cats can drive you crazy with what they will and will not eat . I have used the phosphate binders also .Have you tried the Soulistic brand just a suggestion if you ever need it

Right.. omg I tried so many different brands suggested on the KD facebook group and Tanya’s website. She was a food snob with everything. I don’t remember if I tried that one or not. It was last year. Then I put her on the RC KD prescription food and was shocked she ate it. Worst decision on my part.
hey, have you used B12 vitamins at all? I bought the vitacost ones but am not sure on the dose. I bought the 500 mcg as suggested by Tanya’s website. Do I give the full 500 or just 250?

Are you talking about the Methyl B-12 for neuropathy

I actually used the vitacost brand for Tyler and used the 5000 mcg , A member here told me about this brand. What they don't need they will pee out because it's water soluble. He was back to walking normal and jumping onto things in about 2 months , but every couple of weeks I saw an improvement
I would give the 500 mcg then , Now that I recall I did give Perry Tyler's brother the 500
