WCR: Buzz has no clue that one year ago today is the day her life changed, so she seems pretty darn content. Breakfasts have been consumed, naps have been taken, siblings have been conquered. She's looking out the window now, trying to ignore civie Eve, whose toy is stuck under the TV. Typical day around here.
Today Buzz has been on insulin for one year, and in some ways I can't believe it's been that long, and in other ways, it seems like much, much longer. I can't dwell on it too much because I fear it will make me depressed. I know there are many of you who have been doing this much longer than I have, and my hat comes off to all of you. I do know one thing, and that is that I could never have done this without the support of this community. It's amazing that we're our own little kind of family, that we all support each other and offer knowledge and advice. Although August 10th, 2009 is the day my life changed along with Buzz's, the more important date is July 27th, when I found this board. I never imagined what it would become for me: support, friendship, empathy, laughter, learning, and grief outlet. Words can't express my gratitude, so I will only say this:
