Ah, another day were Mr P likes to show off his natural-born diving skills! Once again, a higher "PS", and I spotted Trixie nuggets in the LB. We haven't seen a green "+3" in a couple days, and I love seeing it so extra-dramatically! She SEEMS to be doing OK with Cerenia out of her regular cocktail, but it's still a little too early to make the call. She is doing so well that I'm pretty scared of changing anything, but at the same time, I don't want to over-medicate her or give her something her body doesn't need.

My Dad's PET scan is this afternoon. I don't know if we'll really hear much in the way of a report until we meet with his local oncologist again on Aug 11. Then it's off to Penn on Aug 14. I suggested he put his name on a waiting list at Penn, in case there is a cancellation. I don't know if he did that, though. My Mom has an eye appointment at the same time as my Dad's PET scan, so I'm taking her to that...she has early macular degeneration and in this appointment, they give her an injection in the eyeball (shivers), so she can't drive afterwards (yes, she can still see well enough to drive under normal circumstances!). My Dad doesn't want her to cancel and I agree...both for her eyesight, and to keep his stress levels down. The limbo we're in is rough, but we have no choice but to ride it out...

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Hi Amy,

Glad Trixie is doing well.

Sending prayers or your dad as he gets the pet scan. Praying for a good report.

NIce +3 Trixie! Woohoo!!

Good vines coming your way for both of your parents. I will be thinking about you and sending you lots of hugs.

Glad to see Trixie got her green back this morning! Prayers for your DF and DM and for strength for you. I admire you for how well you are coping with all that is being thrown at you and your family right now. Thankfully Trixie is helping just a little bit. Prayers that your dad can get into the oncologist at Penn earlier. Maybe you can call to get him on a list yourself?

Re: 8/1 Trixie AMBG 174 "+3" 80

Honestly, I'm not sure how well I'm coping  ...

I'm going to ask my Dad about the waiting list today. He's still sharp as a tack and beyond, so I don't want to insult him by taking away his independence, etc. It's such a tough balancing act...he ultimately has to make the decisions and it's hard to stand back a little, but hopefully by letting him breathe and digest our suggestions, he'll keep pushing forward.

It's nice to see that green at +3. I hope everything goes well with your dad's PET scan and you get the results back soon. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Nice +3 today and good on the nugget spotting.

Vines to your parents this afternoon. My DH had to take DMIL to the eye doctor for the eye poke thing. I still get the shivers thinking about it. Good luck convincing your dad to get into U-Penn earlier. I just went through a bout of "I don't want to be a bother to anyone" with my DM and had to practically hijack her to the ER so we could find out she had broken her pelvis. Seems to be a generational thing - fiercely independent.

Good job, Ms. P!  You could spare us the drama, you know.  Sending many vines for everyone. And big hugs to you, Amy.

Good job, Trixie! Mama needs less stress right now, and giving her that pretty green +3 is a big help! Keep up the good work, little one! cat_pet_icon

Ewww on the eye poke. Of course, I've had Lasik, so I don't suppose it's much different. Sending healing vines to both your parents, and comfort vines to you! :YMHUG:

Oh Amy, I know what you are going through....

Sept 2012 my mom had a triple a done, which we knew about a few weeks in advance. This was after years of trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Well LAST September (6 days after her 1 year anniversary of the triple a procedure) she had emergency double bypass and almost didn't make it. My siblings and I had to coordinate doctor's appointments, cardiac rehab, oh so many things for not only her but my dad. At one point, two were off with dad getting cataract surgery, I was dropping mom off at cardiac rehab and then getting myself to a doctor's appointment, all in the middle of a snowstorm!

I hope all goes well with both appointments and you are able to get some answers soon.....

Nice +3 Miss Trixie!

(((Amy))) I'm so sorry about things with your dad. I have fingers and paws crossed that the specialist can do some amazing things! And I hope there is a cancellation to get in sooner. Healing vines to both your mom and dad (ouch on the eye thing  )

I'm glad that Trixie is giving you a nice green today  . I know how hard it is to balance meds and worry that taking one away will cause something to go wrong  . Hopefully she will just keep on trucking along without the cerenia :-D

I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Many hugs! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

First of all, Trixie looks lovely as usual. Love to hear that she's feeling well and doing well. Good girl...keep up the good work! ((Amy)) You, too, are doing so well with EVERYTHING! I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through, but you seem so very put together and so responsible about everything...Trixie, your mom, your dad, appointments, work, etc., etc., etc. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your extended family. Don't forget to take a little time for yourself... kitty snuggles work well for this, as does a glass of wine and a soak in the tub! :-D Many hugs to you and prayers for your dad and mom and family.
