First day back to work and already worried about my girl. Shasta ate well this morning and I left her plenty of food to last her all day...as long as she eats it! I hate that I'm not there to test her at/near her nadir. I'm going to sneak home during lunch to check on her. I'm sure she'll be wondering 'whatcha doing home so early momma?!'

Also, I would just like everyone to know how difficult it is to type all of this on my phone (especially formatting yesterday's condo link)!!!! :lol:

AMPS=279
+1=257
+5.5=198
PMPS=309
+1=224
+2=183
+3.5=173

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

That's great that she's eating! And the numbers are high enough to not worry too much. :roll: Did you get the feeder working? Paws crossed. I put out a little bowl (round sushi bowl from Cost Plus) and cover the food with a plastic lid to keep it from drying out. Zener will push the lid out of the way but Tillie the civie won't.

Hi guys .. no worries, shasta will be ok! Looks like she has a nice little surf going on in the yellow zone this morning .. she doesn't want you to worry :-D , Liz, I get a kick out of zener moving the lid so he can eat but tillie won't :lol: how convenient! have a great day!

Re: 8/1 Shasta AMPS=279; +1=256

What time (+time) will you be home. That's a 20% drop by +1. Are you able to get another test before you leave?

Re: 8/1 Shasta AMPS=279; +1=257; +5.5=198

I was not able to get another reading before I left. I am home checking on her now, only because it is pre-planning week and I have a bit of flexibility. However, once students start back next Wednesday, I'm gone from 7am-5pm (ish). :sad:

Her +5.5 number was "high" in comparison to the small amount of data I've been collecting for the past few weeks, but I still worry about her +3 and +4 numbers. I did leave food that was a bit on the higher range of the low carb food...lots of 5% and then snacks that I figured she would get to later on today.

Liz, the feeder came in the other day, but I haven't had a chance to mess with the timer part. Yesterday was a zoo!!!! I will work with it tonight and see if I can acclimate her to using it. There is food in the open compartment now, and she's eaten from it, so she knows there is "food attached"! I left out a few bowls with snacks and I tried freezing some of her food last night w/ a bit of water added to help keep it moist as it defrosts...looks like it's doing its job.

She thinks I'm going to take her back to the vet's. She tried to run from me when I got home and wanted to poke her ear! :cry: Oh, kitty memory...please forget yesterday's trauma soon! Ok, back to work! I will update tonight when I get home from the chiropractor! :smile:

Good idea to let her eat out of the open compartment! I hope that vetty episode is fading rapidly.

So, I think I'm over compensating for my absence as I am leaving her higher % in the low carb family, and her curves are staying very high blue and yellow! ugh! I need to find a balance. I just can't get over my fear that her BG will drop low when I'm not home. :YMSIGH:

My lunchtime visit was the scariest. She just seemed so out of it. @-) I'm sure I woke her from a deep slumber, but goodness gracious I couldn't get that out of my mind the rest of the day.
When I got home tonight, she still wasn't herself. In fact, she was in the same spot as where I left her...5 hours earlier. I just want to be a stay-at-home cat mom! grr_red (meanwhile, Shasta is probably very happy I'm not here all day, waking her, fussing over her, poking her, kissing her...

Stupid Olympics...I keep getting sucked in and watch until the end of the news broadcast AT MIDNIGHT! 6am is an unhappy wake-up call. Good night dear people. Hope everyone's kitties did well today and good wishes for the rest of the week.

Good night. Sleep tight.
Don't let the bed bugs bite.
If they do, grab a shoe,
and beat them 'til their black and blue!

The main things is to keep Shasta safe. IMO, if that means a little higher carbs, that is ok. You can adjust them down when you have more data. The Olympics are rather addictive. :lol:
