Today would have been Leroy's 16th birthday 😞 It's been just over 3 weeks now. Civvie and I have more or less adjusted. The achy emptiness is a bit less every day and will probably never go away.

A local shelter has a cat available with no adoption fee. Why? The cat is diabetic. I can't, not so soon after Leroy😩 No guarantees that civvie will get along with another cat either.

How is everyone and their cats doing?

Squeem, I so miss seeing updates about Leroy every morning 😒

Wishing Leroy, a happy heavenly birthday today β€οΈπŸ•ŠοΈ I think you will know when the time is right if you choose to bring home another sweet soul. Often they choose us!

Sending hugs πŸ€—

I also miss Leroy terribly and updates about him. I hope they celebrating him today up in heaven.

I also agree with Kat that you'll know when the time is right. The cat distribution center works in mysterious ways.

I hope you don't mind I made this for you.

I'm sorry. Big hugs. 🩷🩷 Three weeks feels like forever without our furry family members by our sides. How is Emma doing without her brother? My kitty Luna wasn't herself for almost a year when we lost her sister Aggie and best friend Skya within a month of each other back in early 2020. She eventually adjusted but we were a pretty melancholy household for a while. Everyone says that Covid made 2020 the worst year ever but losing my special girls back to back was worse for me.πŸ’”

Wishing Leroy a heavenly 16th birthday today. I hope kitty heaven is celebrating him with lots of treats.

I read once that grief is love with nowhere to go, and I know how much love you had for Leroy. I hope you and Emma are taking care of yourselves 🩷

I agree with everyone here that you’ll know when you meet the right kitty, and often times, the decision is out of our hands anyway. They choose us just as much as we choose them :)

Moonie is good and being her weird self - she spent most of today sleeping belly up in odd shapes and begging for chicken tenders. I think she was nauseous earlier this week, because she’d been gnawing on leaves and throwing them up, but thankfully a kind friend had gifted her with ondansetron and she felt much better after :)
