Cassanova is on my sh*t list this a.m. He was a lovely 120 at pmps last night so I held the shot, at his normal +3 he was down to an even lovelier 86 Then apparently the party started. I get up this morning to an entire loaf of bread pulled down out of the cupboard above the stove and ripped open with every slice half eaten, the brand new bag of dog food ripped open and strewn across the mud porch floor (opened a door to get on the mud porch ) and a rice sock chewed open and played with so I had rice in the carpet in two rooms. Then promptly greets me by puking up a combination of dog food, bread and rice on my clothes on the bed before I could get dressed to take the dog out!!!

I want to strangle him.

I know I shouldn't tell you but I laughed so hard reading your description of Cassanova's misbehavior I sprayed coffee out my nose. Serves me right... laughing at your unfortunate morning.. yep, serves me right...

I suggest you start a new decorating trend and put the bread into a locking metal tackle box. That could actually be sort of cool looking, especially if you spray paint it to match or compliment your decor. And while you are at it, I guess a second one holds dog food.

Or do we put the cat in it? (just kidding)

I've often thought of writing and did write for a long time. Not stories really but promo packets and member bios for local bands. But that was long before husband, kids and furkids. Of course Erma Bombeck made a wonderful career as a writer just retelling her life stories as a wife and mother and all the misadventures that just happen in one of the oldest unpaid careers. So ya never know.

Sorry to hear of your not so lovely morning with your food robber.

I woke up last night at 2am to the sounds of Calley jumping up to the top of the buffet to get at the bowl of dry kibble that my second cat Buddy eats. Then.....this afternoon I find her attacking my Penn Station chocolate cookie that was on the counter. Makes me wonder if she has been into other things that I am not aware of. :(

My eyes have been opened to Calley and the lengths she will go to for food.

Hope the rest of your day is better and that Cassanova's numbers come back down soon.

Oh, Cassanova! @-) Those numbers! What a naughty boy! (but I did have a good laugh about it ... )

When DH and I first got married we had a cat named Schroeder who LOVED bread, any kind of bread. I couldn't leave loaves, hot dog buns, anything like that out where he could get to it. And he's the only cat I've ever had who figured out how to pop the lid (hot lid!) off the crockpot! Ate a whole crock full of chicken breasts one day.

I have a Hemmingway (polydactyl) cat Patches affectionately known as The Paw because until we moved into the new house never met a door he couldn't open, including the microwave and the crumb tray on the toaster. So I'm suspecting Cass had a partner in crime last night.

Hi Mel

So I see that Cassanova's number came down. Is it normal for that much of a decrease? So with a 46 pmbg do you give insulin?

Thanks

Re: 8/1 Autumn amps-76, pmps-112, Cassanova amps-577, pmbg-4

Yes and no. Helpful huh? It depends on the cat, the dose, and the data collected up to that point. Cassanova No, he'swas being grossly overdosed at 11u b.i.d and being shot blind to a fat zero. I had plans of starting him on an OTJ trial this weekend. Only reason he was up was because he had a carb fest last night.

Autumn in a heartbeat because she's a lifer on insulin her former owner didn't treat her at all for 10+ months between when she was diagnosed and I adopted her. I know from testing her a minimum of 4 times a day her nadir is her preshot and she'll rise for at least 5 hours after injection before her insulin starts working. Plus they are both Levemir not Lantus cats.
