A new month, a new beginning for OTJ Alice! party_cat

I think I will keep up the AM and PM tests, for a while at least, possibly through the month of August. Mainly, I think, for my peace of mind. Is it okay for me to continuing posting Alice's AM and PM BG numbers here or will that confuse things for everyone else?

Re: 8/1 - Alice: AMBG 72

Alska is still recovering from the yesterday's party - it was a good one.

I don't think it is a problem to keep posting a condo but you might want to note in your subject line that the numbers are without insulin.

Congrats for all of your care and for her cooperation - Well done Geneva and Alice!!!

Honey you can post a daily condo forever if you want. We all love you and Alice, you're family now. You don't even need to post numbers. If I didn't have two insulin dependent cats to keep a condo for I'd still have a condo for Lord Maxwell. I love seeing our OTJ cats have condos because they give the next generation of scared newbies something to look forward to.

It sometimes makes me very sad to have a kitty and their bean here for awhile, then have the kitty go OTJ and never hear from them again. Because I've come to think of them as friends. Even if you don't feel comfortable giving dosing advice you still have a wealth of knowledge of this dance. You have funny stories to tell. You can hold a newbies hand and soothe fears and become a cheerleader and a welcoming committee.

In short.....STAY! Pay it forward to those that come after you. I was here for a year after I lost Muse before I adopted Maxwell, I was here for another year after he went OTJ before I adopted Musette and I'm still here with Autumn and Cassanova.

RobinCot - thanks for the advice! I have changed the subject line to include Alice's OTJ status. I hope Alska is fully recovered from the festivities by now! party_cat

Mel - I'm glad it's okay to stick around! I read much more than I ever post so cheerleader and hand-holder is probably what I do best!

I want to keep testing Alice on a regular basis (whatever that turns out to be) mainly to keep ME focused and to not get slack when it comes to her health. And Alice doesn't seem to mind. A little before 7 tonight, she climbed up on the side table I use as a testing site, and sat there. Waiting for her test, but, waiting especially for that freeze-dried chicken treat that follows! Smart girl, lol.

With my OTJ boy I test him religiously once a year now always on the anniversary of his OTJ party. And I take a picture of him sitting with his meter so the number is showing. Lol

Funny story, Maxwell has a little pink crocheted baby blanket that I use to lay down for him to sit on while he was tested. He'd been OTJ about a year and a half when I had the blanket laying on my dresser. In the middle of the night I noticed he was laying on the floor by the dresser staring at me. I called him to come back to bed, he didn't move. Then I see the corner of his blanket sticking out from under him. I had to get up and get his meter out, and test him, the second his meter beeped he dashed back to bed and curled up. Lol

I love that idea! I need to do that periodically and send the picture to my friend Juliette's daughter. I think she'd like that.

So funny about Maxwell and his blanket! Whose got who trained?
