I realize this is not at the emergency stage yet by any means. However, I am going to the vet with my dog in about an hour and am afraid to leave Pearl. I fed 1 portion after +4 126, but at about +5.5 we are down to 94, so I fed another portion. This food is 1% carbs.
I hate to really carb her up if she is going to naturally curve soon. The only thing I have to add is 28% carbs (she is on a duck protein only diet and there are not many options).

What do I do?

She is probably close to nadir. She is at a safe number. Just keep feeding the curve...leave food out with her if you can.

Test before you go, if she is still dropping a lot...maybe a little MC (tsp).

I'd get another test before you leave. If she is still about the same or starting back up, feed some LC. If she has gone lower, I'd leave the HC out for her to be safe. Sending vetty vines for your dog.

Felix will eat only one kind of wet food (8% carbs), so I have to improvise his MC and HC, too. If Pearl will eat her food mixed together, that sounds like the best way for you to customize higher carbs for her.

A drop or two of honey mixed in the food gives Felix a medium-carb-ish effect. He seems to like the taste well enough. Karo or maple syrup should work, too. The sweetener works quickly but doesn't last long. Lately we've been experimenting with potato flakes (plain, no flavorings). It seems 1/4 teaspoon mixed in his food gets an MC effect, and he really likes it. It doesn't bump him up as much as honey, but it lasts longer. Honey, less than an hour; potato flakes, at least two hours (but every cat is different).

It is scary to leave when they're doing something new! 94 is a nice number, though. Now, Pearl, that's enough of a drop for today!

Ugh +9 and we are WAY up to 314 :( Poor thing, that can't feel great. Wonder how high she would be now had I left her MC or HC food!
