Day 3 with Girlie in Black. @Jan Radar and @MrWorfMen's Mom suggested I check the AlphaTrak2 battery. I had replaced that on 1 Aug, but I have another AT2 meter as backup, so I checked that with its new bottle of test strips, so:
  • Original AT2 w/new battery: AMPS HI
  • Backup AT2 w/different test strips: AMPS 709
Insulin: Girlie got her original bottle of insulin on 21 June, but the vet said she started a new bottle on 11 July just to be sure the BG readings she was seeing wasn't from the insulin, so the insulin should still be okay, shouldn't it? Or should I get a new bottle of insulin just in case?

No ketones in urine yesterday; I've never seen ketones in her urine (touch wood).

She's drinking and weeing like one possessed, but she's been doing that since before she was diagnosed (which is why the vet thinks she's heading towards CKD even if her creatinine is still borderline at 190).

@Wendy&Neko and others: any thoughts? I guess we just carry on and wait for this bounce to end. :-)

Do you have any of the older bottle of insulin around to give it a try? Most people get 5-6 months from a vial. I used the cartridges to the last drop.

Other than that and patience, I've got nothing else. Some cats go high before going low. At least you are probably Ok easing off the testing today and just get a mid cycle test for now.

Thanks, Wendy. I don't have any other bottles of insulin, but I keep the current one in the fridge, so I'm assuming it will be fine and I can use it til it's done.

I'll just be patient! She'll be glad not to have me mess with her ears as much today, I'm sure. :-)
