Yikes on that AMBG. Mr P kicked it into gear, but still a bit nailbite_smile this morning....

Trix had about a dime-sized foamy spit up as soon as I got up this morning. She was walking out of the litter box room at the time, and there were some "Trixie Nuggets" in the box, so I wonder if there is a connection again. Last time she started having a flare up of spit up incidents, she did need her anal glands expressed. I'll be keeping an eye on it. And hopefully that incident is why her BG was so high this morning.

Since she had been feeling really good for a few days, I did skip her cerenia yesterday morning. So, of course, I wonder if that was the cause of the spit up, too. So it's back to the cerenia every other day again. After seeing her feel so very good, I do not want her backsliding at all, then having to fight her way back to feeling good. Hopefully giving the cerenia wasn't a knee-jerk reaction, but I just wanted to nip this in the bud. I wish I knew for sure if the spit up would have been an isolated incident or not...where's that crystal ball???

Despite the spit up, she is still in gluttony mode! She ate well enough early on that I was able to skip her first assist feeding syringe. I may do one before I leave for work, depending on how she eats. I want to be sure she has a nice full belly to carry her through the day.

Last night, just for the heck of it, I offered her the un-pureed version of the fuds I use for her assist feeding. I totally expected her to reject it, since I've so often heard that they can develop an aversion to the food that is used in assist feeding. Nope...she was THRILLED with it! I know this could very well be temporary and she could easily tire of it quickly, but it helps...this way, Fancy Feast can take a back burner for a while, and then hopefully when she tires of the Purina One Chicken, she'll be more in the mood for Fancy Feast again. Hopefully the phosphate binder is working adequately, 'cause the girl's gotta eat. She is SO good at keeping me on my toes!

I was off yesterday and it was wonderful to be with the kitties again, but today it's back to work...big sigh. But then I'm off again tomorrow :-D !

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Hopefully it was just a one time thing with the spit up. Those darn anal glands! We fight that with Charlie and T. I don't blame you on the cerenia. Better to stop it quick than let it get too bad. Trixie likes to keep you on your toes for sure! Have a wonderful day Amy.

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Wow on that amps, but so good to see that +3. Mr P is on duty.

I used to say that all the time: where is that crystal ball. I hope the spit-up is a one time thing, sure wish they could tell us what is what.

I concur! Those darn anal glads,,, I need to get Bug rechecked, Elsa too. I don't blame you on the cerenia either, better to dray ahead of the game than play catchup. Good luck with it all!

Very cool on the fuds! Nice that she would eat the un-pureed version, sure does make it easier.

Have a great day Amy. I hope all goes well.

Hi Amy, how great to hear that Trixie is eating and feeling better; and I hear you, eating anything is the key! hope the spit up was just a minor incident. Thank you for your vist to our condo yesterday; We are so grateful for this forum and the info that all of you wonderful people share-because FD and CKD are very scary diseases. Little by little, I've been reading Tanya's website, trying not to scare myself too much, but it is good for me to prepare myself. Thanks for the insight about the phosphorus binder and like I said before, I hope that Trixie will continue to feel better and eat!!

p.s. Is it true that Trixie is OTJ? Did this happen prior to discover of CKD? Congrats if this is so!

Re: 7/9 Trixie AMBG 182 "+3" 119

Sorry about the spit-up. I hope that it was just a one time thing. That's great she still has a good appy.

Re: 7/9 Trixie AMBG 182 "+3" 119

where is that crystal ball..........and you know, even if you had one of those, it wouldn't matter because Trixie is a CAT....and there is absolutely no way you can foresee anything she is going to do, l  Ambg does look a little nasty, but at least she is coming down!

Hopefully the foamy spit up was just a one time thing...I will keep my fingers crossed on that one. Glad to see she is eating too.

Sorry about the spit up, but looks like she made a recovery. Much better numbers tonight.

YAY on the no assist feeding! That's a great milestone. Even if you have to do it again, it's nice to see you be able to skip it once in a while. I'm glad she like the food you've been using, too.

Yay for gluttony, too! Let's keep that going, Trixie! Also, if you could manage some slightly lower PS numbers, so your Mamabean doesn't have palpitations, that would be appreciated. :-D
