Yesterday's Condo
Here I am, the queen of the late condos!!! I know it's really too late to post a Wednesday condo, but I thought I would go ahead anyway so you early birds could read it. Tomorrow's will be late, too.
Today's AMPS and the +1.5 gave me plenty of confidence that Cinco would be fine without me today, so after dropping Sasha off at UCD for her first radiation session, I ran some errands. I decided to swing by home at +6 to check on him and grab a bite to eat before taking care of my last two errands, and boy, was I shocked to get a 63! What the heck was he up to while I was gone???? I had left two and a half plates of food for him, and all but the half plate were gone when I got home. Luckily, he seemed content to surf, with just some LC for snacking. I did finally go finish my errands after that +8 reading. So tonight he's surfing blue instead of yellow. Nice. I hope he behaves tomorrow, as I have an appointment to get my car serviced right after I drop Sasha at UCD, and I'll be gone most of the day. Hear that, Cinco? Safe surfing on Thursday for Mama, okay? Please?!
I had the best experience at Petsmart today. I swung by there after dropping Sasha at UCD and decided to use my knee scooter, as I knew they didn't have handicap carts and I couldn't possibly shop on crutches. As I was struggling to get it out of my trunk, the assistant manager went by, helping another customer out with her purchases. He came back to me immediately after finishing with her and got the scooter out of the car and set it up for me. He told me that if I didn't see him when I was checking out, I should have him paged, and he'd come help me out and put the scooter back in the car! As it happened, he was near the register when I checked out, and he took me to my car and put the scooter in. He told me next time I should stay at the car and call the store number, telling them to send him out to get me!! Now that's service! I'll be writing a note to corporate headquarters about that!
Minka sounded a fraction better this morning, but still snuffly and wheezy, so I went ahead and started the Zeniquin. When I got home this afternoon, she sounded noticeably better. Still snuffly, but not as wheezy. I cut her Zyrtec to twice a day instead of four times over the whole treatment. She's snoring on a chair behind me at the moment.
I'm just so tickled to finally see some improvement!
Since Mark was not home this morning, I had to get Sasha to the car for her first radiation treatment by myself. I decided to use her regular carrier. I put on two knee pads per knee - the soft one I use in the house first, with the harder ones for outside on top. I knee walked, pushing her carrier in front of me, all the way out the door, down the steps (just two) and to the car. Must have looked pretty funny, but it worked! A nurse came out and got her, as usual. She did really well, according to the student assigned to her. I took a can of food and they fed her after she woke up, since she'd been fasted since midnight. They said she ate very well and as usual, charmed everyone she came into contact with. She did not get sick in the carrier on the way there or on the way home (even though she had just eaten)!!! Maybe she's getting used to it?! Her left rear leg has a bandage on it, and I had to call and ask about it. They forgot to tell me it's a catheter that will stay in all week. They put it in at the first treatment, then take it out on Friday before she goes home. That way they only have to insert and remove three times. It makes her limp a little, which is so sad since she's already hobbled. She's handing it pretty well. I just took her the last food of the day, and she was snuggled in bed next to my DH. She got fed in the bed, which is totally against my rules, but this is a special situation!! She goes back between 9 and 10 tomorrow morning. I made an appointment to get some much needed service done on my car for right after I drop her off, so I'll be gone most of the day. Fortunately, Mark is working from home, so I don't have to knee walk her out, and he can monitor Cinco for any shenanigans he may pull while I'm gone.
I spoke to my regular cat sitter this morning, and she agreed to come and stay with the three kitties while we're in LA!! She can't take Sasha to her radiation treatments, due to her own work, so Sasha will still go to Dawn, but Cinco and Minka can stay at home and be comfy. I'm so happy about that. Plus I really hate to leave Harvey all alone for three days. It works so much better to have someone I know and trust here with my babies. She's disappointed that she won't get to see Sasha, but we'll get her out here another time to visit with her.
Gosh, I sure write novels, don't I? Hope everyone has a great Fursday. I'll be posting in the evening when I get home, I hope.
Sending healing vines to all in need, especially J.D., Sabrina and Lucy, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
