ok I'm doing my first curve on callie,

amps 334 shot .75u
+2 182
+3 236

I'm going to check her again in a hour, I thought that was a steep drop??? after +3 gave snack , what do you think of her numbers?? sorry I'm sooooo tired (good morning everyone) hope your weekend is going well :)

@ 12:30 pm + 4 298 callie had a snack at 11:30 poor little girl is getting mad at mommy again for so much poke'n

she has hardly slept today been more herself , Thursday the vet told me she wants me to bring callie in so she can check her bg , I went there to get more needles for callie and brought her spread sheet and I checked my meters on my self before I went there. I poked two of my finger and had the metors ready diabetes care club meter 77 Relion meter 76 can't get any closer than that ! so Monday i'm bring callie there and we will have dueling metors then she can get off my as* about home testing ! :YMHUG: cat_pet_icon

I hope you can win her over to the home testing side. Even if you don't I usually nodded alot when the vet lectured about testing so much and then went home and tested. :-D

Nice meter comparison.

Well she's on the rise. At this point you don't need to test every hour, every 2 to 3 would be enough. I'm glad you got that +2 though, that is very interesting. It could mean too much insulin or not enough insulin. We'll have to see what the rest of the day brings.

Great job getting a curve today!!!!

thank you Rob and Harley :) well callies + 6 was 289 she still has been acting her normal self ( yaaah) ;-) today her and tesse her sister had a moth hunt  poor moth didn't have a chance ! thanks so much for your feed back :YMHUG:

Great job getting the numbers today. It will be interesting to see if she just surfed in those high 200s, so if you can get a number around +9, that will help.

I would stay with the .75u dose for tonight.

If you will be around tomorrow to test some more you could give her a fat (just a tiny bit more than) .75u and see if that gives her some more even numbers during the day.

thanks kse, I know it has to be baby steps but i want better numbers she is good some days and others does nothing but lay around and looks so sad it breaks my heart !

I can relate!

My cat, Kitty was dx 5 months ago and still is not regulated and sees a lot of BAD numbers! Some cats regulate a lot easier than others. You are doing a great job and it will get easier. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to get them regulated--but, it appears you have both of those qualities.

It will get easier!

Keep testing and getting data--- you have a wonderful support system here to help you!

Good Luck!

Kim

If her symptoms are bad, I would consider moving more quickly with dose increases. Symptoms in my mind are a sign the dose is too low. If you have been at this dose for at least 2 or 3 days and aren't seeing good results, a raise might be in order. She got that good drop today, but it didn't seem to hold. It's kind of a puzzle, but if she is not acting well, I would factor that in to the equation. If you are home tomorrow and can monitor, you might try 1u and see how she does. I would try to get in some early cycle tests like you did today to see how the drop goes. Today might have just been today, or it could be a pattern to keep an eye on.
