My little glutton is back on the scene! Trix ate extremely well last night, and had a very strong start this morning - ALMOST enough to skip the first assist feeding of the day, but I wanted to be sure she had a nice full belly before I BTBed. Yes, I still had to hold the plate, but if she eats like that all that time, I'll hold the plate all she wants!
Her first follow-up breffis was also met with a good amount of enthusiasm.
Fancy Feast seems to be back in favor....maybe getting a taste of another food that didn't thrill her too much made her appreciate what she had??? Maybe she read her condo and decided to give MamaBean a break? Or, the more the more likely scenario...is she just being a cat? I dunno....I hope the gluttony sticks around, although I know there are no guarantees....
Another wonderful kitten step: Her speed and perseverance with regards to stealing kibbles has returned! No, I don't like her actually stealing kibbles, but I do like seeing her old behaviors return. Way back before the pancreatitis, she was a speed demon...if DH or I turned our back or blinked our eye, she'd have her face in one of the kibbleheads' bowls. She had not done that - not with her old speed - in months. Sure, she'd catch us being lazy and forgetting to pick up a bowl, and she's saunter up to it. But these last couple days, though....lookout! She's pushing the boys out of the way again to get to their food.
She also did some trotting this morning, too! Every morning, our ritual is that she waits outside the bathroom for me, then we walk to the computer chair...she sits on my lap for snuggles while I check e-mail and wake up. This morning, instead of walking to the chair, she trotted. So cute!
I honestly thought her speediness would never return. So...hope springs eternal - if THAT old behavior is back, how 'bout a little CPCing of your own fuds, Trix? We're getting closer, aren't we????
After one day back at work, I'm already off again today...woohoo! I have a long end-of-the-week ahead of me, though, so I need my days off. We're vending at a bead show in North Jersey (about an hour away) this weekend, and it is my turn to man the booth. There are three of us, and we take turns with doing the shows. As much as I love bead shows, I hate driving in North Jersey, so I am not too excited about this one.
Have a great day, LL!
