Good morning Everyone! ~O) ~O) !

It appears as though Tommy is coming down from his bounce today, at least I hope so. I've been holding off on giving him R the past few days to let the Lantus work on it's own. I want to see if I need to up his dose a bit or not. Although with the greens every so often I don't think I will, but we'll see.. I just have to play it by ear and see what Tommy says.

Does anyone use Generic Lantus? I am getting ready to order more and I saw Generic Lantus for $15. less for a 10ml vial than the name brand. Thanks for any input!

Because Lantus is developed from a living organism, it is classified as a biologic.

Regulations
As of 2010, U.S. regulations do not allow manufacturers to make generic biologic drugs. This prevents Lantus from being offered in a generic equivalent for the foreseeable future."

Thanks BJM, I order from PharmacyRxworld in Canada and they have the generic form. I have been ordering the pens and was curious about the generic vial. Thank you for the information :-D

Morning! Good start Tommy - I see you are headed down - maybe blues even today? Good idea I think to see how the lantus will work on it's own. Wow on the generic lantus - one can learn something everyday. nice to see BJM response.

Hmmm.. If Lantus is still under an existing patent, it wouldn't be legal to produce a generic one yet.
Which of course wouldn't stop someone from making it and someone else from selling it :-|

Thanks for the R support I have been thinking about the use of it for a long time its just been hanging in the frig it did seem to help I know I have a lot to learn in the use of it still ;-)

Some "generic" drugs are manufactured in places where there is not good quality control. If Lantus is not yet off patent, I'd buy the Lantus/glargine made by Sanofi and not get the generic.

Ann, thanks I think Tommy is listening, and yeah the price is much lower but I think after reading some things it's best to stick with the good stuff..

Lisa, you are most welcome, in the beginning it can be a bit scary, but you'll be a pro in no time and at some point probably not even use it any more. I try not to even use it as much as I did in the beginning so I can make sure the Lantus is doing it's job.. You aren't alone, that's for sure..

Sienne, I completely agree with you. I will NOT be buying the Generic, especially given what I've been reading about it. Thanks for the input. I always welcome your insight into any questions I have.

Well, Tommy is doing his part so far. I couldn't be more pleased :-D with how the day is shaping up. It's been about a month since we've had a pm number this low at preshot.. Now we just wait and see where he wants to go.. I vote for surfing blue all night.. Any one else like that idea! :lol:

I'm with ya on the generic Lantus, stick with what you know i suppose. I read a little on Bruce's post from health Canada, interesting.

Hi Lauren!! What a great day Tommy had....some really nice numbers and without the R!!! Superb!!!

I hope you and Mark and all the critters are doing well. I've missed talking to you about life in general ;-) Have a great evening and I hope Tommy sees some blue and green tonight.
 
look at Tommy go! What a great day. I vote for surfing blue all night too. :mrgreen: Hopefully shooting low will pay off.
