Good evening L&LL,

Rusty had a tired-out day today. When I was testing him I happened to look into his ear and saw all sorts of crusty, reddish-brown particles. I think he may have been attacked by ear mites. Of course it happens now, when we (Rusty, too) have to go to NYC early tomorrow morning. But I think I'll call the vet when they open tomorrow and see if he can have an appointment on Wednesday. Ear mites could account for why he feels so uncomfortable lately (also the hot weather plays a role, but today was nice). I tried to clean the inside of his ear with a gauze pad dipped in saline wound wash and did get out a lot of gunk. But Rusty didn't like having his ear messed with.

So we are getting our stuff together for a fast down and back trip to the city. I have another follow up with my doctor. And we'll miss a great paddle on the Oswiegatchie River tomorrow. Bummer!

bbl,

Another inspection of the shark nets, despite there being almost nothing in the syringe. Rusty is not a happy camper tonight. I dread the trip tomorrow, but we have to go.
Thanks for the vines, guys.

Jeesh Rusty!!

I think you should probably plan on skipping in the morning and letting his depot drain!! You don't want him out playing with the toothy things while you're on the road!!

Vines for a safe and easy trip to The City and back, today.
I agree with Chris, regarding letting the depot drain.
Healing vines for your ears, Rusty. Eat your food.

Poor Rusty! Ear mites are extremely itchy. If he isn’t scratching at them, it might be something else. Safe travels to the city and hope the vet gets his ear problem sorted out.

Ear mites, begone. No fun whatsoever, Rusty.
Vines for safe travel to the city and for your doctor appointment, Ella.
