Good morning. After three great cycles we hit a bounce. Max doesn't feel well this morning. He didn't eat his baby food chaser that he gets after his gel cap nor his treats. I'm not sure why. I am seeing first hand the meter variance. I tested with both meters several times now and sometimes they are within two points. Other times like this morning there is a big difference. He was 221 and 273 this morning so I picked a number in the middle range. A few times I felt the first test was off and the second was what I would have expected. Now I see how not enough blood can read too high or too low and sometimes the meter is just off. I'll keep that in mind next time I get a pink or red!!

Just after I typed this Max ate his baby food. He came in to me to let me know he is okay. He faked me out. He ate the treats but not the baby food. I'm going to try some cat food.

That's not too bad of a bounce. Maybe his number is higher because he's not feeling well. I sure hope that whatever is bothering him passes quickly. I think a kitty who won't eat is probably the most stressful thing ever.

Don't do too many side-by-side comparisons with different meters....you can make yourself crazy doing so! Once you work with just one meter, you get used to how it responds...it's kind of weird to think of it this way, but having consistent guide is the main thing you're after. Of course you don't want a meter that is wildly inaccurate, but I think this group has really figured out which meters to stay away from.

I hear you about the meters. I'm done comparing unless I get an odd reading like last night. I tested three times. The Relion gave me a reading I knew was impossible. He hadn't jumped from 76 to 279. I tested with the Arkray and got an 80 and then the relion again and got 81!! So I'll only use the second for situations like that. Thanks, Amy.

I put out more baby food without the miralax even though I knew that wasn't the issue. He's just not eating this morning. If he doesn't eat in an hour I'll give him some ondansetron. He hasn't turned down baby food once since he became diabetic. I won't panic yet. He just sneezed twice but he's rubbing against things but not purring.

Good morning Elise! Sure hope Max gets his appy back soon and clears the bounce too. Ive been busy this morning with Chi Chi dropping like a rock. Healing and appy vines to Max today coming your way and paws and fingers crossed too!

Sending appt vines to sweet Max. It's so hard when they don't want to eat and they can't tell you what is wrong. We'll check back on you all later today :)

Hi Julie and Laura. Max finally ate his tablespoon of baby food some time between +1 and +2 so I just gave him some lc and he ate a little. I'm not sure at this point if it was the liquid or the Stella & Chewy piece he was after. Ill see what he does in the next hour or so.

Goodness Max kept you busy again yestereday, hope is appetite is better today! I routinely was checking with my 2 meters, until I became confident that 20% was the acceptable standard. I still check twice, but usually only when the numbers are getting lower. It's a hard habit to break. Hope your mom is doing better and that you are out doing something fun.

Appy is still off but he just ate a little of food left from last feeding with water added to keep him hydrated. Then back under the bed. That is where he often goes so I don't read much into that. I'll check again in a couple of hours before I feel comfortable leaving him though I doubt he will drop too much. We had three very busy cycles so I don't mind this one being slow and steady. Hopefully tonight will be as well.

Thanks Deb. He never finished the food from this morning and is laying on his bed. If he dies t want to eat tonight I will give him some ondansetron. Hopefully he will be ready to eat by then. He's been eating too well until today. I decided to skip the fish oil and thankfully didn't start the cosequin so nothing new has been added.

Thanks, Catherine. I just put out his food and hope he eats as he never finished the food from this morning. He ate his fd after his tests though.

Max ate a little and lapped up the water. He purred when I petted him after his insulin so hopefully he will feel better tonight.

Hope Max eats his fuds.. I see he went from high amps to low pmps and Chi Chi did just the opposite..have a good evening and I hope Max surfs safely and lets you sleep.

Yep, Max recovered from the bounce and maybe went a bit lower from not feeling well and not eating much. Since we had two pj parties in a row I am hoping tonight he surfs. I hope ChiChi has a short bounce as well.

Julie, are you able to restrain yourself from testing? How is the kitten doing?

Weird cycle for Max. He started low and went up again. He is one that just even when he has two or three good cycles just doesn't end up green at pre-shot.

Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.
