Happy Friday Eve, LL
This is the lowest amps for Blackie in 6 days! :-D And we never did do the dosecrease, either. We had a vet visit this morning - we'll get blood results later today.

WCR: Blackie has been feeling pretty good. Last night he woke me up at 2am (+8) by putting his front feet on the bed by my head and meowing loudly. :o I thought maybe he was low, so I tested, 188, and put him by his automat which was ready for him. After he ate, he got in bed with me and cuddled spoon style for a while. It's been quite a while since he did that - it was really nice.

I hope everyone is enjoying this Thursday and managing to stay cool.

Hi Ele, What a nice WCR! And it is great that Blackie's numbers are coming down without the dosecrease. I hope that his blood tests will show that he is in tip top shape. Have a great day and stay cool!

Ella

Hey Blackie! Great fun at the party last night, huh? You're lookin' good today, buddy!

Re: 7/8 Blackie amps 268 +3 250 +6 226 vet update

We were hoping for improved kidney values so we could decrease Blackie's fluids, but that didn't happen. BUN & Creatnine went back up, but not to the level they were when he was so sick. Phosphorus went down to 5.7 from 6.0. Dr. M did not recommend phosphorus binders, but said that I could try them if I want to. Since Blackie's phosphorus went down, I think I might wait on that. He also said we may want to try Calciatrol. I am going to have to research that one - I've heard of it, but don't know what the side effects would be. Dr. M said that it could improve his kidney values but we would have to watch the calcium level. He also told us to increase Blackie's fluids from 75ml/day to 100ml/day.

I've updated Blackie's bloodwork spreadsheet (below) if anyone wants to give me their opinion.

Thanks for all your caring and support.

Hi, Ele! That was a great WCR for Blackie. Cuddles are so nice, especially when it's been awhile. Although I can now picture Blackie's thought process: "Sweet, if I go meow by her head, she will CARRY me to my food! Why didn't I think of this sooner?!" I'm sorry his creatinine is back up, but hopefully the extra fluids will take care of that. Did the vet have any idea why those values may have increased again, or how long he will have to stay on fluids (I guess until the numbers go back down, huh?)? Sending good thoughts and healing vines Blackie's way.

Blackie-
That party was AWESOME, wasn't it?! It was so great that it made my numbers go really low, so I got yummy food at home after all that yummy party food. Best.Night.Ever. I can't wait until the next one! See you soon.

P.S. Remember to be careful of the coyote!

I LOVE your WCR!!

How about posting your question about Calcitrol and Blackie's labs on Health. I think you'll get more of the vet techs to take a look and give you some feedback in addition to the beans here.
