Hi/and or Good Morning,
Been up since 2:45 am or so! Thanks for all your replies and for having some fun with me, too, last evening re my question about a large drop of blood giving a wonky reading. This AMPS is a bit of a food spike, as I left out about 9 kibbles dry Purina DM just to make sure...

Re: 7/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 121

Bet she would be lower if she didn't have that kibble....on the other hand, I guess it depends on which meter you use and how big the blood drop was...and how cold/warm it was too.
All these variables make my head spin! I give you credit for thinking about these intricate things...I guess I am just a simpleton.
I can't stand variables and try to keep things as simple as I possibly can. I wouldn't last an hour trying to keep up with you!! :thumbup

Nice AMPS, Maggie!

We're not making fun of you, Ann... at least I'm not! I make all sorts of strange connections between her readings and whatever else I happen to notice going on at the same time...

Aren't I something else  I am already driving my kitty sitter crazy!

I'm off to get my car serviced, so I will miss her +3 or +4 and won't get a chance to try my Relion! :-x
Just kidding!

P.S. I have to laugh at myself at times.

Hey, we would make a good pair, he, he! Catch ya later; off to get my car serviced. I left out some kitten Sophisticat, so I will be surprised at her next bg. I need more kitty food.

Ann, can you remind me of when you are leaving, and how long you'll be gone?

Hi Libby,
I was just thinking I need some advice on what to do while I am gone. Gosh I so hate to leave Maggie, but I do need to visit my Mom as she's getting older and one never knows what can happen. I've waited until I felt Maggie was stable.

I will be leaving next Thursday, July 15 early, approx. 7:00 am and return the following Tuesday, July 20, late 11:00 pm, so only six days. I have a petsitter who is experienced with giving insulin, but giving a drop insulin is something new to her. She would like to do the shots 7:30 am and 7:30 pm to fit her work schedule, so right now I am decreasing 15 minutes/day to get her to that time, as I've been doing 6 am and 6 pm. The Lantus barely sees any daylight on the first line, so I've been giving her "some insulin" or a drop. I've practiced with water, so some insulin/drop is going into her. So what do you advise? I'm about to test her, as I've been out of pocket this morning. When I got home, she was begging, so I opened a can of Chopped Grill, but it's about time to test.

Re: 7/8 Ann & Maggie AMPS 121; +7.5 112

Okay, her bg is 112 at +7.5, so she's back within normal ranges and eating lc Sophisticat. I guess the Kitten Chopped Grill agreed with her as I forgot to check it with Janet & Binky's list,
