While at the vet on Thursday blood work was done and Mikey's glucose was 206. The morning (tuesday) of his dental was 89 and just now 10pm Saturday 84. My vet said he was not worried about the 206 but could there be THAT MUCH of a difference just from stress & home testing vs. vet testing?

The top end of normal in the vets office is usually 180 on the tests run by the labs. That figures in white coat stress. So you are only talking 26 over that. I'm not sure how much variation there is on the lab tests...was it a lab test or just done by the vet on an AT? If it was the latter, I'd really tend to not worry if he's normal at home.

I'd diligently keep checking him and if he stays below 120, I wouldn't worry too much. If he starts creeping above 120 at home, pls post right away...don't let it wait.

Hope he's better.

Jenn,
Not sure what the margin of error is on a lab test but figure 20% on your 89 could be a 107. So 100 points higher? I think that's possible. Vet stress, pain, etc. could account for 100 points. Just check him daily at home for a while. It'll be like old times for Mikey :-)
