AMPS 185
+3 105
+5 89
+6 107
PMPS 134
+3 85
+5 96 Free Feeds

Morning ~O) ~O) A nice surprise with the low blue AMPS followed by a green. Mags seemed a little antsy and hungry, so I tested at +2.5 rather than our usual +3! She ate most of her overnight fuds, as she free feeds and eats when low. I am using up the last bottle of old strips and will soon start the new strips using the Code 7 with the old meter, so if there's a noticeable increase in her numbers (as in last time), I'll know it's the new strips. I did mention it to the Vet, and he had his Tech call Abbott and report it. I also called Abbott and reported it, and they assured us both that the strips were fine and within range, so we shall see when I start the new bottle! Of course, they'll say it, as they want to sell their product. :? It could have just been Mags throwing me a curve at the time, too, which is what Abbott told me in so many words. There was some play time with Mags's mouse pole toy last night, as it was strewn between the living and bedroom. :-D Four P's in place and later we'll have toothie brushing. I checked on Maggie's b/w yesterday, and it should be in today. Apparently the Lab fire just caused a lot of haywire with their system, and fortunately no samples were destroyed. I think it's a catch-up day for me and an early walk.
Sending healing vines to all kitties needing them.

Good luck witht he B/W report.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128; +2.5 99 AT

What a nice green number for Miss Mags this morning! She is obviously loving these numbers since she was doing a little pole toy playing last night.

Ann, I am really interested in hearing the results from Maggie's b/w. Keeping fingers and paws crossed for good results.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128; +2.5 99; +4 95 AT

+4 95
 Keep it up Mags! She is sticking her nose up at the Wellness Turkey and just licks off the chicken dust!

Thanks Georgia for the fingers and paws crossed on her b/w. Me, too as it's always a worry with the CRD.I know with Cleo, too.

Thabks Helen, it looks like she is agreeing with this reducie!

Thanks Reagan on Mag's surf, and you're welcome on yesterday. I have to catch up on little Munchkin and see how she's doing today.

Hi Roni, yeah I think we are all worry worts when it comes to our kitties.

Hi Amy, her appetite seems to have picked up with these 90's. Thanks on the b/w.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128; +2.5 99; +4 95; +6 99 AT Lab Resu

Thanks Barb & Checkers on Maggie girl!

I had a call from Maggie's Vet and also received an Email with her results. Everything is normal with the exception of her CRD values, but they havent' gotten any worse, so that is good news.
These were the tests with the most concern:

Creatinine even improved from the last time. These tests were on 7/06/12

Creatinine is 2.6 with the Range at 0.6-2.4 mg/dl (On April 12, her Creatinine was 3.1)

BUN is 44 with the Range at 14-36 mg/dl (On April 12 BUN was 41)

Phosphorus is 5.1 with the Range at 2.4-8.2 mg/dl (On April 12 it was 4.2)

Glucose 139 (good for AT and considering Vetty stress!

Her Cholesterol is on the high side, but he wasn't concerned about it. I remember some time ago I posted on Health about it, and one of the Vets there answered and something to the same effect.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128; +2.5 99; +4 95; +6 99 AT Lab Resu

good news on the lab improvements. what food are you giving her? punkin's got the beginnings of kidney problems and i've switched him to low potassium food, but he's not crazy about it.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128 +2.5 99 +4 95 +6 99 PMPS 171 Lab Res

PMPS 171
A little bounce maybe!

Thanks Amy & Trixie.

Hi Julie, I've been feeding Maggie Wellness Turkey sprinkled with Pure Bites freeze dried chicken. There are several kitties here at about the same stage of CRD. Ann & Tess has a list of low phosphorus foods if you click on her ss, I believe. I'll check it out and see if still there.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128 +2.5 99 +4 95 +6 99 PMPS 171 Lab Res

Nice day for Maggie and a nice lab report. I've read that the BUN isn't as much of a problem as they used to think. Any cat on a high protein diet will have a higher BUN, the important thing is that the protein is high quality so as to be more easily metabolized.

Wellness Turkey is pretty good for Phos, even better is Merrick BG turkey, but Tess has decided it's a no go. I think the best I've found for both phos and carbs is NV Raw Organic Chicken.

Re: 7/7 Maggie AMPS 128 +2.5 99 +4 95 +6 99 PMPS 171 Lab Res

Thanks Ann, I was relieved that it stayed about the same and the creatinine even lowered. I should give the NV raw another chance, although the small bag I tried wasn't organic as I remember. A lot of the kitties don't seem to like the Merrick for some reason. Probably conniving again. :-D

Ann - Glad the bloodwork was good. Good luck on the food quest; I wish at least one company would find a way to offer a better all-around food...I know...dream on...

Nice numbers, Maggie!

Hope y'all have a great evening -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Hi Ann,

I'm glad Maggie's bw was good! She's surfing nicely there. It's funny to hear most kitties don't like Merricks. Merricks BG is the only food Racci will eat currently.

Hugs,

Melanie & Racci

Good news day for Maggie - Vyktor is very pleased :-D

Abbot would say their products are ok no matter what and they probably are within 'the range' - like they told me re the Freestyle Lite. That was within their 'range' but we all know how unacceptable that one is!!
