Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty is feeling much better this morning, thanks to the KTSS and the various tips from the beans. Last night he had his first green number of yesterday. We have a small bounce this morning, but I'll take it. Overnight the hairball did not materialize, but two good poops were in the litterboxes. Roni, he ate the Wellness with a little olive oil in it last night, and I put a little in this morning, too. So we've had a good test, good shot, 2 sittings of breakfast, and Rusty knows we'll be out all day and has been told that he has to check his automat for lunch and snack. We're going to the St. Lawrence River (1000 Islands) to the camp of a friend. Actually, she no longer owns it, but gets to use it each summer for 6 weeks or so. This woman is an inspiration to all of us: she is in her early 80s and has not stopped paddling, sailing, hiking, skiing, bicycling, climbing, etc., even though she has had a bad leg/back for several years now. Never give up! (she also makes an awesome Kahlua cake).

We'll be out until PMPS, so if any kitties would like to visit Rusty and hang out on the porches, they are welcome. Big OTJ party for Curry later. Rusty can't wait!

Good Wednesday to everyone,

Ella & Rusty
Hey Kitties: come keep me company before we all head out for Curry's OTJ party, OK?

Good morning! Sounds like you have a great day planned. The woman is definitely an inspiration! Have fun fun fun!

Good news on Rusty. Glad he is feeling better. Hopefully that hairball just worked its way through.

Hey Rusty! I think I will come over and visit today. Maybe we can run through the sprinklers or just hang out in the sun. Can't wait!

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

Good morning Ella.

Glad to hear that Rusty is feeling better.
Sounds like you have a great day planned. I would skip all the paddling, hiking and skiing and just go for the Kahlua cake. :-D

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

Have a wonderful day, enjoy the outdoors and your friends.

Happy to hear Rusty is feeling better

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

Great to see that Rusty had dipped a paw into the greens.

Have a wonderful time at the lake! And that woman is amazing -- doing all that at 80? I can barely get my butt to the gym!

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

Hi Ella, so glad Rusty is feeling better. Not a bad bounce at all either! What a great tip from Roni with the olive oil. It sounds like a great day with your friend and the St. Lawrence River. Wow, she does sound like an inspiration with keeping so active and enjoying life. I'd also go for the Kahlua cake, lol!

Hey, Rusty, so glad you enjoyed the chicken soup we all brought you. Glad you're feeling better. That sounds like fun coming over to your house and hangin out on the porch while your Beans are away. Mannie will get the KTSS going, I'm sure, and we'll be seeing you soon, Maggie

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

Hi guys .. I didn't know rusty wasn't feeling well, but I am glad to hear he is doing better .. I hope the kitties can join him today and get him back to 100% .. enjoy your day out!

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135

YAY!! Rusty is better!! Sounds like he just needed some LB action, and several pots of the KTSS's chicken soup. :-D :-D
Enjoy the paddle. I like that lady! awesome! I had read an article the other day on a woman., also in her 80's who routinely, every year is found on the Pacific Crest Trail here that runs from CA/Mexico to Canada, very high elevation stuff in some parts. She too has continued to do what she loves doing - what an inspiration these folks are. I hope to be so fortunate when I am in my 80's. --- and I hope your friend makes that kahlua cake. :-D have a great day!!

WOOT!! Hang out at Rusty's!!!! I am SO THERE! We be coming Rusty - we can make sure all is all set for Curry tonight - it has got to be perfect! and I am SO GLAD that you are all better. I gots extra soup so I will bring it, just in case you need some more.... see you SOON! - I gots to go and pick up Maggie.... ~~ Mannie

Maybe the key to a long health active life is in the Kahlua cake. :-D Perhaps its similar to those vodka or rum soaked raisins for arthritis. Ummmmm.

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135, PMPS 116

Hi again,
We had a great day on the St. Lawrence River. It was supposed to be stormy with damaging winds and hail. But we only had a few sprinkles and even saw a lot of sunshine. A beautiful day and a really nice picnic with about 25 friends. No one paddled: we just sat around!!! Some folks swam (Edward among them).
Rusty was so happy to see us at PMPS (got home just in time for it; after a 2 1/2-hour drive). He was sitting on the dining room table next to his "welcome" basket from last November; I think this basket is his security blanket and we leave it at the end of the table for him to sit next to. He hadn't eaten a thing from his automat, even though both lids were open. He hadn't even finished the food I set out in his dish for him to nibble on before the compartments opened. We used to observe this behavior with both Alice and Stu: they would "save" their food and dive into it the minute we got home (Alice more so than Stu, because she had spent time on the street; Rusty also spent time on the street). Anyway, he ate his dinner with enthusiasm; he may have gone down into the greens today (almost certainly). We had a nice time outdoors after we got home. Rusty is such a great kitty and enjoyed being outside with us.

I'm tired, so I think I'll watch some of the Tour de France before visiting a few condos.

Ella
Hey my friends, thanks for visiting me today. Now we're on our way to Curry's OTJ party. I've been fasting all day so as to be able to eat lots of that good food that we're gonna prepare. Chef Mannie's menu is da bomb!
Your pal,
Rusty

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135, PMPS 116

you know, i think you hit the nail on the head with the "street" theory.

Lil Annie Fannie buries every scrap of food she can find...

though she has food available at all times and gets regular treats as well...after 6 yrs of irregular feeding, she just can't quite trust yet...

Re: 7/6 Rusty AMPS 135, PMPS 116

What a wonderful day! I love it!!

Too funny on his saving his food, waiting for you to come home. it is an interesting thing on the feral aspect.

nice numbers for Rusty today - looks great!

RUSTY!!!!! Let's roll! I had such fun just hanging out on your porch.... it was so cool. Sorry that we forgot to eat lunch... ~~ Mannie

Ni Ni everyone. This bean is tired. Tomorrow we are doing the "Route of the 7 Carries". Some of the portages are short, but there are a couple of sizeable ones. It's a neat paddle.
