AMPS 142 dose reduction .75 (tricky and I hope I got it right)

Hi All
I want to thank you all again for your condolences on Stuart Little. He is being privately cremated and hopefully happy where he is at.

Last night was beyond challenging and Jamie and Carl stuck with me late into the night and early morning. There isn't enough ways to say thank you and show my appreciation as I would have been lost alone.

I am hoping for a calmer 24 hours today.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Good morning Julie and Purrcee

Beautiful number this morning, and congrats on the reduction.

Bookmark last night's adventure. If it ever happens again, you can refresh your memory on what to do in the rare case that nobody is online to help. But you won't feel "lost" if it does. You can think "been there, done that" ;-)

Hoping your day is a little more on the calm side.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Good morning Julie. I read about the passing of Stuart Little and please add my condolences. It's hard when we lose them suddenly and without any warning. I had a kitty several years ago that threw a clot. He'd never been sick a day in his life, but one day was hacking some, like when they're trying to deal with a hairball, but Smokey kept hacking. After awhile, I went to check on him and one look told me something serious was going on. I rushed him to the vet, but within a few minutes he was gone. There's just no way to prepare yourself for something like that. I know Stuart will have many many friends to keep him company at the Rainbow Bridge, including a blue manx kitty of mine

My China is also on the .75u, so I totally understand your concern about getting the right dose! Even on the syringes with 1/2 unit markings, its darn near impossible to get the exact dose 100% of the time.

I did see someone explaining that there was a way of doing it that involved something like "screwing in" the plunger..each turn was a drop (or something like that). Hopefully someone will come along who understands what I mean and can explain it better to both of us!!

Good luck with Purrcee! He seems to be earning a lot of reductions and doing really well (although a little too low for comfort once in awhile)

Hope you have a good Caterday!

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

You did a great job last night Julie! Congrats on that reduction. Although it was hard work, it takes you that much closer to the goal of remission. :-D :-D

Give Purrcee a few extra scritches from me, he's doing fantastic.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Thank you Chris and I'm so sorry you had to experience the same with Smokey.
Wendy I will let Purrcee know you sent him scritches.
Carl I did bookmark but where the heck are the bookmarks (I seem to be challenged in some areas on the website)?

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Great Job Julie!!! And nice AMPS today Purrcee ;-) Hopefully Purrcee will let you rest today. It is very scary getting in those low #'s nailbite_smile but you handled it like a pro  And if we want to give our Sugar Babies a chance at remission we have to venture into the Green Lagoon Rocks once in awhile  This is Hoots and I's second time around and I hope for him to be able to get back into remission again. He misses all his friends at "The Falls" but is very glad to be back here to see all his old friends and meet new ones like you and Purrcee :-D :-D Try to get some rest today and like I said before " You are in the best hands here" ;-) And Congrats on the Reducie :-D  :-D

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Julie,
Go to your user control panel.
On the "overview" tab, on the left, one of the choices is "manage bookmarks". Clicking there will bring up a list of anything you have bookmarked.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

gees Carl I should have been able to figure that out!
Thanks Pam...wishing and hoping for a quick remission for Hoot!

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

The board can be a bit confusing, navigation-wise. I'm the sort who likes clicking on stuff to see what happens, so that's how I "learn". If the board ever totally disappears one day, it will probably be because I clicked on something I shouldn't have

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142

Hi Julie. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Stuart Little. It's so difficult to lose one of our furry buddies.

You did such a great job last night handling Purrcee's low numbers especially considering your loss. I hope Purrcee surfs the safe numbers today and you can get some well earned rest.

Have a great day.

Looks like Purrcee is giving you a break with the nice blue surf.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee AMPS 142 +2 137 +5 123

Hope it lasts but last night the green started really low after PMPS. Keeping my fingers crossed it goes good tonight...have to work tomorrow all day and won't be home to monitor. Blue like the ocean is comforting

Re: 7/6 Purrcee PMPS 99 Question

Hit the green which happened last night and was a killer night. Based on last night Purrcee was lowest at +4. Do you think it best I test at +3 or +4. I cannot stay up all night and function tomorrow.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
AMPS 142 +2 137 +5 123 +10 108

Re: 7/6 Purrcee PMPS 99

You might want to test at both...get a general idea if he's going up or going to drop, but I'm fairly new to all this. That's what I'd do though just to see if I needed to set my alarm to check later.

When you have a question and want others to take a look, make sure you add the ? to your FIRST post of the day. It's the only way it will show you have a question as others are scanning through the condos. When you add it to a "reply", it doesn't show up

Re: 7/6 Purrcee PMPS 99

Julie,
I know the feeling...I can't stay up too late tonight either. I have one more day of work (9-5 tomorrow) and it'll be one of the half dozen busiest days of the year here. Then I get my "Holiday" and my "weekend" so 3 straight days off, whoohooo!

Anyway, a +2 to see if there's going to be any early drop happening.
And a +4 to see (assuming it's a normal cycle rather than a repeat of last night) how low he goes? If he doesn't drop far by +4, you could be seeing a repeat of todays calm cycle. Then you can just leave some food out and call it a night.

Re: 7/6 Purrcee PMPS 99

Thanks Carl and Chris...I will post at +2 and +4 and hope for the best. I will leave food out after +4

Carl you work Sundays...that's a tough one! I hope you get good rest tonight. I remember well how it was when I got a 3 day weekend...looked forward to every one of them and tried to extend them as often as possible :-D

Purrcee seems very good this morning with good number. Going to feed his main breakfast now before amps. I have to leave around 9:45 this morning so can't do much testing and I am concerned if his amps is in green whether to shoot or not since I can't monitor.
