YESTERDAY:http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/posts/1449959/

I planned toget a +6.5 last night but dosed off. So if Max dropped lower I don't know. I did give him some food at +5.5 and he was up to 74 by almost +7.5. He wasn't his vocal self this morning but did eat his Gerbers and enjoyed a brushing. He still has the flaky skin. I guess that is another thing that will never change.

Prayers and vines for all in need with all the usual extras.

Morning! :coffee::coffee::coffee: Nice start for you today Max. looking good!

We dealt with the flaky skin with Mannie too. His coat and tolerance for brushing changed so when he became an FD kitty. I found some grooming wipes that helped some.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Thanks Michelle. My vet suggested that now that you mention a damp towel instead of brushing but I never tried it. He has been getting knots in his fur which never happened before so instead I've been brushing and combing more. Guess that wasn't so smart.

More please. Max on Mauri kangaroo. Kitty crack for him. I hope it's not raising his BG.

Another nice run for Max today. What was up with that 225 last night, a yellow out of the blue. Glad to see that was short lived.

Aww..Max is a handsome boy!:cat:.. nice numbers day for him too. No more yellows Max please. Chi Chi still has 'dandruff" too, and some minor matting. She hates to get brushed,(and not afraid to let me know it either:mad:) except for on her head and face/chin area. Paws crossed for a nice cycle tonight!

Thanks Tina and Laura. That 225 definitely was odd. I've given up trying to figure him out. It was too short to be a bounce from the 53 the other night.

Cute pics of Max, so handsome! Great numbers, too. I've started adding a small bit of Omega 3 fatty acid cat food supplement to Lulu's food, her dandruff has disappeared and her coat has never looked better. I still brush her daily though.

I give Max Nordic Naturals omegas most days but it didn eliminate the dandruff. He doesn't like it much and I worry if it will cause pancreatitis. Max says thanks for the compliment.

My what a handsome boy Max is!!! :D:D:DGreat to see him eating so well! I was wondering about the omegas, and well, fish oil too, aggravating pancreatits.

Thanks Ruth. I was thinking maybe it had bothered him when he was acting sick and stopped but the flaking was worse so I got a new bottle and tried again. The lymphoma vet suggested it and so did my vet though. I have to put it in his food. He won't lick it up on his own so he only gets it when super hungry.

Elise, it's funny I wouldn't have thought omega would have any taste, I couldn't smell it really but Max apparently does taste it! How long has he had flaky skin?

Hes had the flakes for almost as long as he's been diabetic. I never connected the two until I read about others here. My vet never commented about it but the cardiologist rated him 7/10 because of the flakes and his extra weight.

The omega has a very strong fish smell.

Seriously, Max? What is so great about the 50s? I'm not enjoying them that much, myself, but that's a different issue. :p Time to head for shore. See Cinco signalling?

That's the same stuff I have been giving Cinco that I am convinced has given him loose poo. I didn't know about the pancreatitis, either. Last thing I need is another cat with that!:confused:

I hope he gets tired of swimming with the sharks and comes up for you, Elise. Apparently, the 'roo did NOT raise his BGs!

The fish oil doesn't give !ac loose poo. In fact he's still getting 1/8 t miralax daily. I don't know if it would cause pancreatitis in a cat not prone to it but who knows.

Well he ate tons and is now quiet and sleeping so I think it's safe to get a few hours of sleep or I'll never be up at 6:15.
