Yesterday's Condo
Another late condo today. First chance I've had to sit down at the computer. Cinco was kind enough to surf blue for me, after a bit of a bounce. I appreciated not having to worry about him today, but I wish he'd stop taking those dives that trigger bounces, even though the bounces haven't been too high (anti-jinx). A lower PS and a nice smooth surf would be lovely for a change. A bean can dream, can't she?
Cinco is still having the summer appy issue, so kitty krak is being used quite generously. I'm soooo glad he likes it! I think I'll try to get some different foods this week and see if more variety will tempt him. We are down to just four flavors right now, and my kitties all prefer variety.
Minka was more congested this morning, so I called the vet again and they had a late afternoon appointment available. That worked for us, since the NASCAR race was postponed to this morning. We got to watch the whole thing (or rather all that was run - it was rain-shortened), and then packed up Minka and took her into Sacramento. The vet said her lungs sounded fine, so it appears to be another upper respiratory infection. She said we shouldn't be too surprised when she gets these, as the Pred she's on weakens the immune system. In fact, she was surprised when she looked through Minka's record and saw that she hadn't had one for almost exactly a year. We came home with Clavamox, and Zeniquin, too, although we aren't going to give her the Zeniquin unless we don't see improvement after three or four days on the Clavamox. The vet suggested I take some today, since it's a long trip for us and I'm hobbled. That way, I'll have it if she needs it, and if not, it has a relatively long shelf life and I may need it sometime in the future! I liked her reasoning. I gave Minka a Zyrtec when we got home, since that seemed to help her yesterday. I thought I had given her one this morning, but when I went to load the pill popper tonight, I saw that the pill was still in it!
ohmygod_smile My fingers were so stiff this morning that I must not have pushed it in all the way. I'll have to be sure and check it from now on!
Sasha gave me a scare this morning. She was sitting on the bathroom counter, watching me get dressed, when she decided she wanted to be in my arms. She started to launch herself at me and lost her footing. I managed to catch her as she fell. Our counters are higher than average, so it would have been quite a fall for her. I just held her for a while until I calmed down (I was a lot more shook up than she was). She is still learning that she can't do things the same way anymore.
Well, I think the casserole in the oven is almost done, so time to go make the salad. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Sabrina and Lucy. Hugs to all their beans, especially Cindy and Mariko. :YMHUG: Cheers to all our OTJ trial kitties! Keep up the good work! :RAHCAT
