July 4 - KitKat bars! Oh No!

DH tells me this morning when I got up - Luci is really high! She's over 400...:eek::eek::eek: She's bouncing really hard:blackeye: - then I see on the floor... the evidence... a candy wrapper...then another...oh no!:( She found two mini KitKat bars and ate them both...how long before she comes down from that sugar high? ugh :( Here's the evidence:

Oh my goodness! I don't know if I've ever heard of a kitty eating chocolate before! I thought that was limited to dogs. I had to google it but chocolate is not good for cats. How is she behaving? I found symptoms of chocolate toxicity HERE. If she has any of these, you may want to get her to a vet. I am so sorry, I feel like such a killjoy this morning. I hope she's all right. :bighug:

My boy raided the candy jar on halloween last year and got 2 of the mini twix bars. He came down pretty quick, a day or so if I recall. I wouldn't worry too much, but Amanda has a good point to watch for any signs of cholocate toxicity. My boy was happy he got a free snack and was fine. Acro's find the strangest things to eat, I think Neko was fond of muffins:rolleyes:

Luci's just fine...she's acting like her normal self. :D Eating well, resting..and her numbers are coming down. I have to admit, this isn't the first time Luci has raided the chocolate! I found years ago that I could not leave out Hershey Kisses (for the holidays)...because I'd come downstairs to find chewed foil wrapped chocolates everywhere! :eek::eek:At that point I put the bowl away anytime we weren't watching...last night those were supposed to be for marshmallow melting...but it was too hot and we were too tired...and I forgot to put the darn bowl away before going to bed. :cat:Luci is jumping up on the counter now - watching the birds...not sure why she wants to eat chocolates...must be part of her diabetic tendency for cravings??? No worries, Amanda...you and Loudogg have a good day :):bighug::bighug:

:eek::eek::facepalm::facepalm:

My Ohsa LOVES to eat food she shouldn't eat, but she never ate chocolate!

As you said, at least you know the reason for the high number. It usually took Osha a couple of cycles for the contraband to clear her system. It unfortunately also gives her very runny poo.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Please be good Luci and only eat your super yummy kitty food!:cat:

Omigosh, I had to goggle and then chuckle a little. I absolutely do not want Luci to be sick or suffer any ill effects, but sometimes these kitties are so funny. The cats that raid the kibble on the sly, the ones that want to share your meals, and chewing up Kit Kat bars and Hershey's Kisses. They are the limit and so very loveable.

Oh thank goodness! I was worried. I hope it clears her system soon!

I think Neko was fond of muffins:rolleyes:
Banana bread, unwrapped from plastic and foil was the first sign something wasn't quite right with Neko. Then it was blueberry muffins and a baguette. At one time she even snacked on the bread starter DH left on the counter.:rolleyes: Yeast is another no-no for cats. Neko survived, though there were some GI woes to tell. Bread starter sent her to black, she was green less than 24 hours later.

Pokie break day for the beans.

Oh now I know why Luci did it! She was just finding a way to be left alone. :joyful::p

Rex doesn't have any weird food tendencies, other than being always ready to eat. My civvie Keena has a tendency for sticky tape and paper if he's not feeling right. That's our way of knowing.

So, really? We don't have to test her today? If so, I'm taking a swim and then a nap! We figured it was business as usual...next test will be PMPS - but she is coming down nicely from her sugar splurge! Crazy cats!!

Luci! You got some 'plaining to do..........( said in my Ricky Ricardo voice)

I'm with the others to watch for any chocolate toxicity symptoms. Hope she comes down ASAP.
So far so good...she's chillaxin on the floor:D:D - the sunspot she was in has moved - although I can't imagine on this hot day why she sought out a sunspot - habit perhaps.:confused: She's been eating well, a bit spunky after I fed her noontime - looked at me all wild like and ran off - but was soon back..she's just her usual self:cool::cool: - mama won't be leaving anymore chocolate out on the counter tonight!:oops: That was for humanbeans! Not her! :banghead:

PS: At PMPS Luci is exactly where she was last night - so if we could just make sure that she doesn't get into anymore junk food...hopefully she'll be back to approaching the lagoon tomorrow...she was definitely moving in that direction...sheesh...we've just lost another day :(

LOL. Well I think she read the label. They do say KitKat on them. That means they are for Lucy!

Around 1970 my Mom bread our boxer Laurie for puppies to sell (yeah, silly). It was Easter. Mom and Dad made chocolate baskets for all us kids, then we went to Sunday School. Guess what the boxer puppies found!:eek::eek::eek:

What goes in, must come out. Those little dogs stayed out back for the next 2 or 3 days making a mess. The weather was nice and they were setup in an area with ample water and some regular food. I think we watered the heck out of that lawn over the next 2 weeks to wash it into the soil.
