Jack was his typical high 200's yesterday, and today he was 261@ his AMPS w/0.5 ketones, so I assume he went higher overnight. We started the increase to 7.5 units this morning, and at +3hrs AM he is actually higher at 306. Normally, he is starting to come down by the +3hr mark, so not sure what is going on. He ate breakfast, maybe he is feeling better and eating more, hard to tell. Paws crossed we see some type of lower numbers this week, it's getting depressing here. Giving my vet clinic til Wednesday to get me an estimate and appointment for the acromegaly and other insulin resistant bloodtests, and then will call my sister's vet to see if they will run tests for me. :bighug: I was just going to ask you if you had done the Acro and IAA testing yet. I hope he really is feeling better and will eat well today.
 
@Suzanne & Darcy and @Wendy&Neko ...Are these the correct tests? The first seems like the IAA test but is the second the Acromegaly test? This is what I got back from my vet clinic:
For the Insulin Auto Antibody test you would be looking around $72.00
For the Insulin like Growth Factor - 1 test you would be looking around $166.00

Yes. The IGF-1 test is the test for Acromegaly. The other is the IAA test. These sound like the same prices that I paid. Although there was FEDEX shipping on top of that. The blood samples are to be sent frozen to the lab. The tests are run once a week on Wednesdays. If they don’t have it by a particular Wednesday they will wait and run the test on the following Wednesday. It’s the Michigan State University veterinary diagnostic laboratory.

MSU charges $68 for the IGF-1 test and $21 for the IAA test. Check out this link, code 20005 and 20031. On top of that is cost for a blood draw (should be just one for the two tests), blood prep and shipping. The blood draw and prep are whatever your vet charges, shipping depends how far away you are.

:eek: OMG, those prices are drastically different from what the vet sent. HOLY COW! The prices they sent BETTER include shipping fees! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sending this link!!!
