Does Cinco know how to break a bounce, or what?!
 The only problem is, I fear this means we will stay on the roller coaster for another ride around. Never did care for roller coasters. :YMSIGH:
I am so glad he likes Forti Flora. It's such a life saver when he is so-so about whatever food is being served. Works ALMOST every time (anti-jinx)! He feels pretty good this morning, even suggesting he could use a back and neck rub! The idea for that usually comes from me, so I was delighted to oblige, even though my arthritis meds hadn't kicked in yet and my hands hurt like you-know-what. Can't pass up an opportunity like that! cat_pet_icon Got a couple handfuls of fur for my trouble. Shedding is ongoing.
Civvie Minka decided she'd been out of the spotlight long enough. Last night as I dragged my tired rear up to bed, I found her lying in the doorway to the guest room, and she looked uncomfortable. A few minutes of scritches revealed that she was making more noise than usual as she breathed in, and sounding snuffly as she breathed out. It doesn't usually bother her, but this time it seemed to. Of couse, this has to happen at 2:00 am on July 4th! I gave her some Zyrtec, then put the humidifier in the guest bathroom, fired it up and turned the shower on full blast. She and I spent the next hour sweating in there. She didn't seem to mind, but I'm not sure that it helped. When the hour was over, she was ready to exit, though. So was I! Wilted and exhausted.
She seemed marginally better this morning, but I called the vet and she agreed I should increase the frequency of her Pred to every other day (from every third), and if she isn't better in three or four days, or if she gets worse, I need to take her in to see if there's an infection. Lovely.
So then Harvey gets into the act. I decided to change things up a little this morning and brought out a can of an old favorite Friskies flavor that had been banned since Harvey's kidney numbers went south. I figured once every few weeks wouldn't hurt, for a treat, since we've got him back to normal. I should have noticed how quickly he was eating, but I was preoccupied with Cinco and Sasha. Next thing I know, Harvey is casting up his accounts all over the dining area!!
 I had to call in reinforcements. I wasn't up to crawling around and cleaning up the multiple spots (why can't they stay in one place and do it???!!!), so I hollered for the DH. Ten minutes later, there was Harvey, begging for food! I gave him a pepcid, made him wait almost an hour, then I put SEB in the food (NOT the Friskies), which he didn't care for. He snubbed it for a while, but I just noticed him cleaning the plate (Mom=1, Harvey=0). :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH:
Sasha's appy was a little off this morning. She had to be coaxed to eat, and a little kitty krak was needed. I suspect the problem was more that DH heard her eating dry food for about five minutes while I was downstairs feeding the others. Silly girl. Just couldn't wait for Mama! She is otherwise well and snuggled all night long, after restlessly moving from my chest to my shoulder to above my head to my other side- with lots of kisses in between!
So never a dull moment around here, darn it! We did have a quiet 4th - DH grilled steaks and I did potatoes, corn on the cob and salad, and we watched racing and some favorite tv shows from the past week that were on the DVR. More of the same tonight, but rotisserie chicken is on the menu, with a rice and mushroom side dish. DH still hasn't mastered getting the skin to brown and not scorch, with the marinade on it. It's always moist and juicy on the inside, anyway. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
