The power is FINALLY back on. We were out from 7:00 last night until 10:30 this morning....a bit too much of a flashback to Hurricane Sandy. At least it wasn't freezing cold this time, and it wasn't out for 5 days. The storm we had last night was really scary...I like a good thunderstorm, but the wind gusts were really, really frightening, even to me. We had some pretty major branches come down, but fortunately no property damage. A neighbor's car was parked in front of our house and a branch just barely missed it.

Trix's appy has been "meh" since last night. I'm not sure if she was feeling the storm and power outage stress or if it was just one of those "one step back" parts of our "two steps up, one step back" pattern that we seem to follow. She's eaten OK, but is not in glutton mode. She was incredibly feisty over her gelcap this morning. I tell ya, it was almost easier shooting insulin without power than it was trying to get that into her  !

I did skip her follow up pokey this morning, since she was so close to being within range and we were all out of sorts anyway.

She's not talking about the party....but all the kitties are totally passed out. I suspect a wild and wonderful time was had by all!

This bean needs some breffis...BBL for more catching up! Thank again, LL....you are our family, and without you, we wouldn't have had the incredible OTJ celebration that we were blessed with yesterday.

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

I'm glad your power is back on and you didn't have any damage from the storm. That could be affecting Trixie's appy. I hope her appy gets better as the day goes on. It's no fun dealing with kitties when there is no power.

Re: 7/4 Trixie AMBG 122

I also enjoy a good thunderstorm but not so much the severe ones. Glad they got your power back on and yiu can enjoy your day. I would have skipped the extra pokey too :) Looking good Trixie!!!

Re: 7/4 Trixie AMBG 122

Yay for the power coming back on. I don't blame you for wanting to test, it's a way of life now! I missed Mark's B-Day yesterday. congrats Mark, what a present from little Trix!

Re: 7/4 Trixie AMBG 122

Looking good, Trix! Sending some appy vines to help things along. Yep, big celebration yesterday. Our kitties are looking a little smug, not sure what that means. I'm almost glad they aren't talking.

Re: 7/4 Trixie AMBG 122

I am glad the power is back on.
hi Amy, maybe the stress did affect Trixie's appetite. I know Lovey doesn't like thunderstorms. Sending prayers for a better appetite and steps forward.

Re: 7/4 Trixie AMBG 122

Happy Birthday to Mark and Congratulations to Trixie.

I hope she is eating better today.

If you are at work tomorrow, maybe I can stop by with J.D. after his appointment. You're in the same building complex as Windsong?

Hi Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) HAPPY 4th of July!

Happy Birthday to mark - seems I missed that too! I hope he had a good one.

oh wow on the storm! I had no clue that you were under siege so to speak. I am glad though that all is well, and the power is back on.

Appy vines for Trixie, though I expect the storm has something to do with it. I hope that will improve soon.

I hope you all have had a great holiday!

I don't know where tonights PMBG came from...this time I can't blame kibbles because unless she has a secret stash, I know she didn't have a raid. But, Mr P kicked it into gear.

Her appy is still meh, but to me - given her facial expressions and body language - it seems more like she is not pleased with her fuds options than her appy actually being off because she's not feeling well. I really don't have many options in the house right now...I was trying to keep her somewhat limited in an attempt to control extreme finickiness. She is eating OK...just not the way I like. Could be her summertime appy, too. I was thinking how I let all the other guys eat as little as they want in the summer and I don't bug them, but poor Trix...it's always "eat more, eat more!" I guess the pancreatitis had long-lasting psychological effects on both of us  !

Yay for the power being back on. It's a pain when it's off, and if it's hot out, that's even worse. I'm glad you had no damage from the storm.

Summer appy sounds like a good thought. It's happening around here. I can't decide if that's Cinco's issue, or if he's learning to be finicky like the pampered housecat he's become. For so long he had that "stray cat mentality", where he ate anything and everything I offered, because he knew what it was like to be hungry. I think those memories are fading and now he knows there'll be food, he can be pickier. Just remember, one day of eating less isn't going to sink Trixie into a relapse of anything. Now, if it continues, that's different. Park the helicopter for the holiday, Mamabean!

I guess all the fuds at the party were low carb, judging by Cinco's numbers today! He was definitely tired today - once his BG came up, he was out like a light. I haven't gotten anything out of him regarding what went on, but I think he had a good time!

Have a good night, Amy.
