Good Morning on the 4th of July!

We are about to leave to paddle to the picnic at our friends' camp. The weather is cool and overcast with storms predicted for this afternoon. Needless to say, we are packing our raingear.
Rusty had a good night after viewing "The Living Desert". He was quite upset while the insects were battling each other and walked away at that point. But the squirrels got an A+ in his book. He'll have his lunch today in his automat. Hopefully he'll eat it.

Thanks for visiting, everyone. We had a fun day, but those thunderstorms were pretty wild. Fortunately we were able to paddle out during a lull and just got home in time for PMPS. Rusty was happy to see us. We were tired from all the eating and kibbitzing and vegged out watching the Mets lose to the Dodgers.
Tomorrow we're heading to camp in the afternoon and will be there for the week with the family (who have rented a large cottage on the lake, 2 miles away from our camp). Looking forward to it.

The LagoonMeister is on duty tonight. Surf safe, kitties! Apparently the reigning hot-dog-eating king was dethroned today. I hope the kitties got some good hot dogs! (We had "Michigans" at our picnic: bright-red Glazier-brand franks with meat-sauce topping; this is a Northern NY specialty and has nothing to do with Michigan.)
