Good Morning and Happy 4th of July, Everyone,

All is quiet here, although we did have some pre-4th illegal fireworks last night. The big display (put on by the village) is this evening. Rusty had a good night. We had the fans on drawing in the cool night air, so he was comfortable. This morning he had a good test and shot and ate his breakfast (1st sitting). I think he again ate his nighttime food close to when we got up and that it may have influenced his AMPS (but I thought that yesterday, too, and it obviously was not the case). I hope he'll have a good day while we are out at the picnic. He'll have his food in his automat.

We're going to leave in about 1 1/2 hours for Hoel Pond, where our friends have an off-the-grid camp. They built it themselves over the years and it is very neat. They have a sun shower and a beautiful outhouse with a screen door. We'll grill "Michigans" (hot dogs with meat sauce; no one knows why they are called Michigans), play Mexican dominoes, swim, paddle, and just relax. Back in the later afternoon, well in time for PMPS.

We wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. All kitties: be brave!!

Your plans sound like SO much fun!!! You do have a great community. Have an absolutely wonderful day. Tobey wants to know if he can come live with you...it think it's the "cimmamun cake" :lol: :lol:

I think you are right about eating before AMPS is the reason for the number. I have been free feeding Tuffy but am changing that she will eat continuously. Sounds like you had plans for a wonderful relaxing day. Happy 4th.

Your plans sound like the perfect way to celebrate the fourth!!! People around here also like the illegal fireworks. Drives me crazy. They're illegal for a reason, people!!!! We had a few last night and already some throughout the day today. I dread tonight. I have nothing but desert behind me and I just know there will be some idiots who think it will be a great place to set off their illegal fireworks and not get caught by the cops. They better not burn down my house!!! Thank goodness I have a tile roof!!

I hope Rusty doesn't get scared by the booms tonight!! I know Champ is already under my desk! :lol:
 
Hi again, Everyone,

Thanks for visiting Rusty while we were out all day. I'm sorry not to get to any condos today. Rusty is "under the weather", I think. He ate poorly this morning and didn't eat anything from his automat all day (he may have slept all day). He enjoyed the garden when we got home and explored the catmint plants (first time he has shown interest in them!) But he picked at dinner (I sprinkled some Forti Flora on it to make it more interesting). The clincher, however, was his bedtime snack of FF T&G--his favorite. I only give him a teaspoon of this at night and tonight he didn't even finish it! I hope what ails him is only a hairball. The fireworks tonight were loud, but Rusty was OK. We closed the doors to keep the noise down.

We had a really nice picnic with our friends. It was a beautiful day. We mostly just sat around, did some swimming, and of course paddled to get there and back. We didn't have "Michigans", we had grilled chicken. (very delicious)

Ni ni now. Tomorrow I'll get caught up. I hope you all had a really nice 4th of July.

Your day sounds wonderful! What a great way to celebrate the 4th.

I hope Rusty is better by morning. The appetites around here are off too... except for Mannie, who is always there with his face in his bowl... Feel better Rusty!
