I was very hesitant to give Lucy her insulin at a glucose level of 3.3/59 this morning as I didn't get a +10 or a +11 test so I didn't know if it would continue to drop. At +13 after a good amount of food at AMBG as I forgot not to feed her and wait for a rise in glucose the glucose level was the same at 3.3/59 so it was possible it could have gone under 2.8/50 without food. So I waited and tested again at +14 and it was 3.6/65. Lucy is not carb sensitive and doesn't have big increases in glucose levels after food. Only honey seems to lift her glucose levels so I am always anxious about giving her insulin when she is in green numbers unless I can see the glucose levels are rising. However we are now at +15 and going by past trends where the glucose levels can stay in green numbers without insulin up to +20 it is likely there will be a rise soon. The lowest glucose level I have dosed at is 4.8/86 at +16 and I gave 2 units. I increased Lucy's insulin to 2.25 units yesterday up from 2 units. My feeling is to give insulin soon before the glucose starts rising too much as it will rise fast when it does though we will likely have a bounce whether I gave insulin at +12 this morning or not. I will do another test soon.
