I know this is Trixie's condo, but Zen ate, Zen ate!!! Granted it was a small junk food meal, but he ate! When I got up at 4:00am to check on him, he came running over to greet me, so I knew he was starting to feel better. When I got up again at 5:15 for the usual morning routine, he came downstairs with everyone else. He showed a little interest in food for the first time in over a day, and even had a few licks of canned. I tried giving him his usual Orijen kibble - not really interested. Tried a Greenie - not really interested. Then I tried giving him a few of Mario's crap-for-food K/D kibbles, and he crunched away! So I tossed him a few more and he crunced. We did that for a few minutes. I tried to trick him into eating a few of his own "highe quality" kibble, but no go just yet. All I know is I'm relieved he's showing an interested in any kind of food, even if it's junk food. Phew...dodged the vet bullet for today, but will be keeping a very, very close eye on him. Between the higher Sunday rates at the vet, and an important family party today (MIL's 70th birthday!), I didn't know how I was going to manage it...

Oh yeah...and look at Trixie's AMPS :-D !

BTB...

Re: 7/31 Trixie AMPS 112 +2 82

Oops...little groggy this morning...initially put the wront date on Trix's condo. That's why I usually wait till after +2 - just not awake enough at AMPS!

I'm liking her numbers so far. Zen hasn't eatn more yet, but I was also sleeping while hubby was managing the rest of the herd. I'm going to see if he'll eat a little more right now...

Yay for Zen!!!!! Maybe he just got sick of the same ol kibble?

Those are some pretty greens for Miss Trixie!

Trixie is looking great!!! And YAY FOR ZEN EATING!!! Has to be a relief. I just hope he continues to eat so he doesn't have to have a trip to the vet!!

Happy birthday to the MIL!!

Actually, not enough improvement with Zen  ...I dug and dug through my cabinets, found my old food-sized syringes from years ago and just syringed a little food into him a few minutes ago. We're going to go slow with this, so he doesn't barf. A vet visit for tomorrow isn't out of the realm of possibility. He's been snuffly before, but I don't think he's ever lost his appetite for this long. After his first round of syringing, he ate a few of those crappy K/D kibbles again, but not enough to qualify as anything relevant. Yes, I'm stressed now...

Oh no, I was getting excited that Zen was feeling better. I know you must be so stressed with Zen not eating much and all the activity going on around you -- Happy Birthday to your MIL. I hope you won't have to go the vet route, but see how Zen is feeling tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, Trixie has had a really good day with the green numbers!

Nice cycle today for Trixie

I hope Zen improves and the appetite returns so you can skip the vet...

Thanks, guys. I was feeling pretty hopeful this morning, too, and he is showing a teeny bit of interest in food. He's purry, and somewhat perkier than he was yesterday, but still qualifies as lethargic overall. And he still doesn't seem nauseous to me, just not very interested in food. I'm really praying that the syringing will get him going again so we can avoid the vet tomorrow - at this point he may be stuck in the vicious cycle of not wanting to eat because he isn't feeling well, and not feeling well because he hasn't eaten much. If he hasn't imrpoved any further by tomorrow morning, I don't think it's avoidable...

I'm definitely thankful for Trixie's numbers today - they're pretty nice, safe, and not anything to worry about. Thanks, Trix, for not further taxing my brain today!!

My MIL's party was very small, but very nice. I think she enjoyed having all of us there today.

Hi Amy,

Great #'s for Trixie and I hope Zen improves enough so you don't have to take him to the vet tomorrow. You must have been really encouraged when he ate a little bit on his own. Hope it continues.

Very nice day for Trixie. I also got excited when I heard Zen ate. I hope he's doing better this evening and also hope you got to go to MIL's party.

Healing vines for Zen!
