7/31-Shakes - perplexed....

Hi everyone....
so I was telling you all yesterday that his numbers have been pretty yucky for the last few days
last night his numbers were
pmps289
+3 314
+5 295

so as I was saying last night , I was going to try to switch sides...
I have been injecting on his right side so this morning I injected on his left
side
his numbers were
amps 292
+4 - 212
+8- 90
pmps was 232......

sooooo., why is it that in just switching the area that you ususally inject will cause his numbers to really go down
very interesting...If anyone else (Donna) wants to try this and see if it helps, and that it is not just us..
just let me know...

I used to shoot Harley in the flank when someone suggested that because I use the short needles maybe I was shooting into the layer of fat instead of Sub Q so I switched to the really thin loose skin around his shoulder/under arm and his numbers improved some.

Nice numbers today. Wouldn't it be awesome if switching injection sites does the trick?

I was shooting the scruff when I started since that's the way the vet taught me then I read on here it might be better to shoot the flank so I switched. I never noticed any difference but I also switched to short needles around the same time. Maybe I should switch places too.

Definitely curious. I'm not sure you can conclude that is the reason though - he has had randomly good days before for unknown reasons, so maybe it was the switch, but could be coincidence. Also if you compare today to yesterday, if you take out the +8 test from today, you wouldn't know he had gone below yellows today. Today overall is slightly lower than yesterday, but who knows, +8 at yesterday could have been blue or even green.

You might try getting in more spot checks around the +8 mark, and doing more like today when you get 2 in the same cycle. Could be he is actually getting more dips than you realize.

I'm laughing about this exchange about where to give the shots. Alex doesn't give me a lot of choices. I would like to rotate sides, but we shoot where/when Alex lets us.
