I’ve not looked at your condos for the last several days. I was looking back but not sure if it’s a new pancreatitis diagnosis he has? I saw the issue with pain. I would not give tramadol like Marje said because one of my cats had a very bad experience. She nearly fell asleep with her head in a water bowl and wouldn’t eat. What worked best for Max was bupe but not too high or low a dose. Kind of like Goldilocks. I used ondansetron and cyproheptadine. I did find ondansetron would be constipating so had to increase miralax when giving it. Adding water to the food is a very good idea. I hope the gabapentin works well without respiratory issues. :bighug:

Good deal with the Gabapentin and sub q! Glad he is responding well to that. I often add extra fluid in Pearl's food (she actually won't drink water by itself AT ALL). Still on the Cerenia? We actually stay on that all the time, keeps her stable. It can take Pancreatitis a bit to turn around, so hang in there!

Yes it's the first time he's been diagnosed with pancreatitis, but we suspect he's had it for a while given the symptoms. Other vet we had never tested for it so just tested recently at new vet. Yes he also is still taking the Cerenia, that's been very good for his nausea.

I am pretty sure chronic pancreatitis is made caused Max to become diabetic. It was the pancreatitis board that caused me to check for sugar in his urine which is how he was diagnosed. I was thinking ckd.

I bet his BG numbers have been affected for a long time on your SS by the pancreatitis. It would shoot Pearl up a couple hundred points!

I’m really glad the gabapentin is helping him. How is he feeling other than not being as miserable. Is he acting more like his normal self?

He seems comfortable, but the Gabapentin makes him sleepy. He still gets up some but sleeping more than usual. No breathing problems that I’ve seen and I’m watching carefully.

Love not seeing those blacks and that your Max seems to be feeling better. Hang in there, Lori. We'll get that glucose down and help your boy with other issues. I love your optimism in the original post above for today. It is important to be hopeful and positive and Max probably picks up on that too.
