Good Morning World! Welcome to our NOISY home! Yesterday

Are we REALLY working toward OTJ? That's the first time I've really typed those initials - afraid I'll jinx it! We're now on a full Day 2 of nothing, that bg IS lower than last night's of 364. He's eating wonderfully - it's truly a joy to watch him happily eat! 4 of 5 p's in place, hadn't played much be he doesn't play much anymore anyway. He did chase and bat the rope a couple of times last night so guess we'll call that 'play'.
My reminder:

My RockDoc has me confused...I feel like we're giving too much insulin but I can't prove it. His P's are all in place, no ketones but leaky eye and sleeping a lot. 3 more days of ab's, they taste SO awful, I hate giving it to him but we couldn't get the clindamycin pills without a $50 vet visit so we're using the liquid. He forgives me quickly - he's such a big Angel kitty.
Now for the other topic in our subject line! There was a young pup at our vet's office that needed foster quickly until she can be spayed then possibly travel to her new home. She's about 4 months old, a wirey haired terrier mixed with just plain cute. She's got legs a mile long and a smile even bigger but only weighs about 2 pounds! She's FULL of energy and doesn't like to be alone. She was an owner surrender - no idea why. Someone fostered her for 1 night - she whined and barked all night, they returned her yesterday morning...I picked her up yesterday afternoon. We will NOT be keeping her, just getting to love on her for a week or two. I put her in the small crate in Sassy and Sasha's room last night, she slept until 6:30 this morning when she needed to go potty. This picture doesn't do her 'cuteness' justice (clickable thumbnail) - meet 'Sissy' (luckily owner DID leave her with a name):
Lots of thoughts and prayers for Melanie losing Racci and for Terri and Chicken Little. Amy and her dad too - I know I'm missing some.
BIG HUGS to all that visit today!!!

withhold insulin immediately... regardless of the numbers you're seeing. it's possible KT is telling you he's done with insulin and is simply stuck in a vicious circle of dropping and bouncing. trust me, it happens. when withholding insulin you'll want to withhold for a minimum of 3 days (6 cycles) to allow the bounce to clear and the insulin depot to deplete. fyi: not too long ago we saw a cat take around 5 days to clear a bounce before going otj. trust your gut and use what you know about KT to help in making decisions.
Yep, Marje - you're right, I jumped too quick.ohmygod_smile When I saw them just keep going up and up and even up this morning after I knew he didn't eat, I squished him. Now I'll start over counting...
