hmmmm.......

Johnny makes his own rules, doesn't he? I assume you're not shooting this?

Re: 7/31 Johnny +24 (84)

No, we didn't shoot it. Yesterday, he dropped more than 150 points in the first three hours.

Should we do extra testing today? Can the plan be to shoot when he needs it and not when he doesn't? Has any kitty here ever done that? I know Lantus likes consistency, but we just can't measure any lower.

Re: 7/31 Johnny +24 (84)

I think he should sniff the bottle periodically throughout the day

Re: 7/31 Johnny +24 (84) +36 (122)

122 at 36 hours since the last shot. We didn't shoot. We'll test again in 3-4 hours to see if he brings himself down at all. I'm nervous about tomorrow a.m.'s number if it is higher. We are going out of town for the day and won't be around to monitor if we shoot. We'll be here for a.m. and p.m. tests, but gone from mid-morning until around 6 p.m.

I know 122 is just over the normal range and pretty good for not having insulin in 36 hours. But I'm feeling a little frustrated about the drop seeming to be too much even once a day, but him not being quite ready to be OTJ. Even so, I'm still grateful that we are where we are. I know lots of others are in much more frustrating holding patterns.

Hi Janice,

I can understand the worries for tomorrow.
My suggestion, are you able to test at +11 or +11.50 just before the AMPS number in the morning?
That should give others a heads up.

Other than that, we'll just have to wait and see what Johnny decides to do!

Re: 7/31 Johnny +24 (84) +36 (122)

Hi Ronnie! Thanks for the response. We just tested him and he's at 80 three hours after the 122 (without insulin). I don't think we'll need to shoot tomorrow a.m., so glad about that. I hope Luna meets Johnny at the Falls soon.
