Yesterday

We took Harvey up to .25 today. :( Boy, if you'd told me three months ago that I'd be upset to have him at that dose, I'd have said you were crazy! Guess it's all a matter of perspective. Paws crossed we'll start seeing more green on the SS now.

Appy this morning is okay. He only ate a few bite of his t/f/s meal, but he's eaten most of his breakfast. I'm not necessarily satisfied, so we'll see if he eats more on his own or gets tummy meds. I had a terrible time getting that +4 test. His ear just did not want to give up any blood. He was amazingly patient through it all. I even managed to wash the eye gunk off his legs before he decided he'd had enough personal attention.

Pantry update: Shelves are done and debris cleaned up. Painting today! Progress!

Watching and cheering for Trouble and Max as they near the end of their OTJ trials! Go boys!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

I hope Harvey just needs a kickstart to get him back to the lagoon more and he won't have to stay at this dose very long. Sending appy vines.

Harvey think real hard about those lovely greens,,,,,:D:D:D
Hope his appy gets better! Sometimes those poor ears have a hard time giving up any blood:eek::eek:

Hoping Harvey's appy picked up and good luck with the dosecrease. Doodles has been giving me attitude on testing lately but I've had a few misses myself creating more than 1 pokey. Great work on the pantry..enjoy painting!

Harvey was actually being pretty cooperative (for him), but one of his ears is harder to get blood from than the other. I think the problem was that I had already used that lancet earlier and it was already dull, combined with going for the "bad" ear. I was upstairs with him and didn't want to come all the way down to get a fresh lancet (I don't think he would have waited for me), so I kept trying with the same one.:oops:

His appy did pick up about an hour after tummy meds. :) He's eaten more than a can of FF.

A cousin of mine who sometimes stalks our condo gave me some theories he has about Harvey's numbers. He thinks that, because cats prefer warmer temperatures, Harvey came down because of the summer weather, but started going back up when our A/C was fixed. I told him I'm not sold on that, as we had a cool late spring, and he was already coming down then. Plus, before the A/C broke, he was still in the lagoon daily. This cousin always gives me some really interesting food for thought, though, with documentation to back it up. I would share his sources with you, but they are in Slovenian! Maybe Sara would like to see them?

Interesting. I think the warmer weather creates higher numbers but heck, I know nothing. o_O My family heritage is Slovenian but of course my generation could never speak or read a lick of it. Believe the grand parents and great aunts kept it that way so we couldn't understand their adult conversations :p

My father was first generation American, and very passionately so. He and his siblings learned the majority of their English in school, as my grandmother, although she tried very hard, never did master the language. My grandfather did pretty well. I never heard my father speak Slovenian, and when I asked about it, he said he forgot it when he left home because he was American and didn't need it. My aunts, who were younger and stayed home longer, did speak it when my grandparents were alive, but after they passed it pretty much died out in our family. To my knowledge, no one in my generation ever learned it. I wish I had. I know it bothered my grandmother a lot that we had such a hard time understanding her.

They did have a lot of pride about being American. My grandmother was first generation American but she passed before I was born. She did have 7 sisters...those were the great aunties who all married and lived on the same block. So my generation is pretty far down the line. :)

Yuppers on that here, too. And we're stuck at 0.25. It is a stuck I like, though!

Polly has gotten pretty fussy about the ear pokes. I guess somewhere beyond two years of poking has just worn the process thin. And some mornings are more pokey, pokey than others. Poor kit.

Now, Harvey, work this dose. Greens. Lots of them. We'd love to see you at that almost imaginary dose again, you know.

Quite a difference from many of today's immigrants - they seem to take more pride in where they came from than where they are.

Meanwhile, back at THOC, Harvey just blew both of his beans' minds with his PMPS. :arghh: (and yes, DH did retest - got 189) We didn't even run the A/C today, so I know he's not cold... Must. Not. Stress. :nailbiting:

He ate about half his dinner on the first visit. It usually takes several to polish it off.

Just chalk it up to NDW and wait for later

You know how Harvey can be!!....He may have some surprises in mind for the wee hours of the morning!!

Yo Harvey!! Whatcha doing out there buddy?? I needs some company down at da lagoon!!!

Yo Deputy Harvey, No need to go as far up on shore as the trees! Come back down, sit in the lifeguard chair, and watch the lagoon with the binoculars. China and I have the water covered.

Harvey's a doll.

Harvey! Stop that NDW at once! You're worrying mama bean.

I hope he heads back to the lagoon tomorrow. Those ear pricks where their ears don't want to bleed are frustrating, even when they're feeling patient.

Congrats on the pantry steadily progressing. I moved into a new apartment on Friday and I'm about 3/4 unpacked. I guess I fall in the minimalist category. :p

Your wish is my command, dearest China! - Harvey

Well, that's much better! :D NDW. Yeah. I'll buy that! He finished his first serving of dinner and is working on seconds :).

Pantry is painted! Tomorrow I'll get the shelf paper in and start putting stuff back. This is the part I enjoy - organizing. Not that you'd know that by looking around my house! I decided to paint the existing shelves, too, as they were all marked up. Looks much better.

The new shelves are the two top ones, upper right.

The top one goes over the door, too. Lots of room to stash little-used stuff! :)

@granadilla, you and I appear to be polar opposites! :joyful: Have you finished the elimination diet yet? Results?
