THE CHARTS ARE NOT UP TO DATE.
Boo went on a honeymoon at the start of the summer, approximately May. I take his blood down on paper then transfer it to the online chart. But I haven't for a while.

Friday (7/27), Boo started acting funny. He was reluctant to eat in the morning. He didn't eat anything in the evening. I figured he didn't like the Friskies I had to give him (I'm in a money crunch). I left his food out all night, in case he wanted to eat it. He didn't.

Saturday, he refused to eat. I knew something was wrong when he refused a can of tuna. When I checked his blood at 7 am, he was at around 280. I tried to force feed him (friskies) a little, but the food didn't go through the oral syringe well. And Boo fought me. In the evening he was at around 280 again. I decided to force feed him (friskies) as much as I could and gave him a half unit of Lantus.

Sunday, Boo was at about 150. I went out and got him Fancy Feast, which he actually ate on his own. I gave him a half unit of Lantus. I was hopeful that we were having a turn around. When I went to feed him, he refused the Fancy Feast. His blood was at around 300. I force fed him a little and gave him a half unit. This is because pre-honeymoon, when Boo refused to eat, he'd get the insulin then get hungry within an hour. This was not the case. I feel I've made a huge blunder. He's not eating.

Today, he's still not eating. I fixed the oral syringe I've been using. I gave him a half unit of insulin this morning, and I've been slowly force feeding him over the course of the morning. He's lost weight. He won't pee, so I can't get a read on ketones (his breath smells normal for him).

Any help would be appreciated. I'm getting worried.

Update: I finally got the money to get Boo to a vet. He's staying overnight for observation. They are very positive about his condition and think he'll be fine.

Yup, take him to the vet, maybe a tooth infection that you can't see or small........I know this personally as Davidson was in remission for 4 yrs and I tested him monthly in the 4th year and one test was high, then for the next several tests and days. Took him to the vet and he had 4 infections way inside and therefore needed surgery. That's what brought back the FD..........don't wait, and hopefully it's not serious.

I don't have the money for a vet right now. I got a whole can of fancy feast in him and checked his blood. He's at 208. I'm contacting some people to see if I can borrow some cash for a visit to the vet.

Hi and sorry for the higher numbers again. I agree, a vet appointment is in order to see what has taking him out of remission. Teeth issues is one of the number one reasons cats will lose remission. I hope you can get some $$ to take him. Keep us posted and it was good you started him back on the insulin.

I am not currently a good candidate for lines of credit. I am in a position where I can only rely on friends and family.

Update: Boo is doing a lot better. While force feeding takes a huge emotional toll on me, it was worth it. His blood is at 260, but he's eating on his own. I weighed my options and felt a full unit would be best for him. He seems more alert. I'm hoping to take him to a vet sometime this week or next.

Update: Things seem to be continuing to get better. While I did have to force feed him last night, I haven't had to do that this morning (yet). He was at 160 and even ate some food on his own.

Here's hoping every day is better. I'm sorry you are struggling with this.
