Still giving insulin with a dose at the zero line. The Merrick BG just arrived today and the kitties tend to eat far less of that than the other food, so I'm somewhat inclined to skip tonight and see what happens. His pancreas going on hiatus corresponded with the change in food. While I don't think the carb numbers went up significantly, the amount of food he was eating did... He tends to scarf foods that he really likes, and unfortunately, my schedule is such that I'm not really able to feed him in smaller quantities over periods of time. With the Merrick, he eats it but not as enthusiastically, so he eats less food overall, spaced out more throughout the day. Wondering if the change in his eating habits scared his pancreas a bit. We shall see....
While he was much sleepier while in higher numbers, he started seeming back to normal last night. He apparently didn't like me getting out the laptop to type this, and so he dramatically tipped his water mug (he does that to see the water level) with such flourish that half of it spilled on the floor.   Of course, he then gives me a "well, aren't you going to clean this up?!?!?" look.    Herbie is currently perched behind my head on the loveseat, patrolling the backyard for any squirrel shenanigans, and perhaps thinking wistfully of all the kitty croquet party fun from this weekend.
