that is for sure!!

well...we had a non-moving blue night all night.....I guess a mini-bounce from yesterday

and now here we go :mrgreen: :mrgreen: .......here are my two questions:

1. keep current dose? I am home to monitor ......and even though he isn't a food spiker, that gravy seems to work...

2. I already know come PMPS he will be super low AGAIN...he is a good surfer....can someone look at my SS and offer advice on when I should have shot last eve? I still don't understand what to do. I have read the sticky 100 X now...but I still can't get it! :?: it is just so hard for me to shoot Tom 3.25 units when he is in the 50's!!! :shock:

Hi Kelly, I see Tom is back at it again. :mrgreen: :roll: I think this calls for a reduction. With the partial skip/delay, I think you drained enough of the 3.5 dose that you are now working on the 3.25 dose. Plus it is taking a bit of work to keep him above 50, so he really wants a reduction. Time to go back to measuring on the line.

As for last night, I would have done exactly what you did. FWIW, a flat cycle, whether blues or yellows can often mean an active cycle to follow.

well, I am not even going to ask the most obvious question............you know...when to shoot?.....as I already know that routine.....

here is the new question of the night:

at what point late in the cycle can I feel comfortable that Tom isn't going to bottom out?

at what point can I relax and not worry he is going to dip into the 30's?

I have to go to walmart for some....., can you guess???????HIGH CARB....and have been waiting all day AGAIN....

don't you think if I get to like.....+13 or so...it is safe to leave?

Dh is home...although he doesn't test.....I am working on that!! ;-)

anyway...I realize no one can guarantee anything....but what are the odds?

Tom can ride a wave for an awfully long time, so that's a tough one to answer! Maybe your best bet is . . . how long does it take to get to Walmart and back? I mean, if you know that feeding him a certain level of carbs or a certain amount of food will keep him level for say an hour until the next test, can you zip out and come back during that hour? Or feed before you go plus leave some food out if it takes longer? At least you've got DH to be home with him just in case he starts acting odd, there would be someone to break out the honey. Just my two cents.

Oh and congrats on the still-very-effective reduction!

Sorry, I should have realized before I posted at this point you're probably trying NOT to feed so you can get a rising number for the next shot. Just apply what I said to sometime MIDcycle if you absolutely have to go out!!

no worries Amy. For some reason my vet didn't give me any BOS my last visit....so Tom isn't going to get his PM shot anytime soon.....

I think last night was over an 8 hour delay......YIKES!

so withholding food doesn't work for him....just gives him an acid puke gut.....plus he doesn't spike from LC food anyway....

yes...I am unsure about leaving too. god, I never thought I would be "one of those" that ever ran out of anything...I must have 500 strips....but I just never figured I would need a pantry of HC at this point. I do have his favorite though...mrs. buttersworth....so if need be I can just mix that with some LC ....

I will just delay the walmart trip

It's been a couple of hours since you last gave any higher carb food, so the effects of that should be worn off by now. If after your next test he is up a bit, I think you could make a run for it if you still wanted to. But we do like cats that smell like pancakes. :lol: :lol:
