Good Morning LL! & hours sleep!!! Amazing, but it won't happen tonight. As I was afraid Tess didn't find her +9 snack and I do think that eating then helps keep her AMPS down. So I will be getting up tonight to test and feed her. She came in to wake me up this morning, very hungry.

WCR Just 4 Ps but the last has been showing up late in the LB. Time to play and brush teeth. :o

I think Tess is trying to keep pce w/ Mannie today. 192 point drop in 3 hours, good thing I slept last night!

Tess!! YAY! A surfin' buddy today - it is so cool. Hey do I need me to come and show you how to use your feeder at night? it's easy! just keep one ear open 24/7 and when you hear it make "that sound" make a beeline and YAY - food is there. I have to be quick - my civvie sisters may get mine. Though I am sneaky and told then that sound is a bad one and stay away. silly civvies - they listened. See you on those waves!! ~~ Mannie

Good thing on the sleep, too bad on the food thing. I think you may be right on the +9 snack. I don't always get that one in - and often wonder if it would make a difference in Mannie's amps. ?? my gosh Tess keeps you on your toes.

The 8%rabbit at +3 seems to have slowed the drop. Surf on Tess.

Surfer Girl, Tess! I wish I had a cool graphic for that one. Blackie rarely eats his late night snack in the feeder either and I don't usually test that late. I always like to visit your condo, cuz Tess's numbers always cheer me up. :-D

Still a pretty steady drop. Since she went into the 40s I gave a touch of food (she has been sniffing the feeder and licking the empty bowl :roll: ). I'll shoot in the 50s if I know she is rising, but not when I still see a drop.

Yes, Sienne she did do it on Wed. and on the 18th and on the 10th, the 7th and the 4th! ohmygod_smile I'll shoot as soon as I see a rise.

you probably won't like my take on this, but I'll tell you anyway. :lol: I learned this from Jojo and it worked for me and Lucy, though I can see how it wouldn't work for everybody. Once I got more used to low numbers, then my approach was just to shoot at +12. Low, high, rising, dropping, whatever, just shoot at +12. Why not? You're going to feed after you shoot (food spike, though Tess doesn't spike much), and you'll test at +1 if you shoot low, so if she's still going lower after her dinner you can fix it with gravy at +1.

That worked for me for a couple of reasons. One, I knew I could always count on Lucy to eat, so low numbers weren't a huge concern of mine. And two, Lucy almost always pulled this at night when I could stay up and test. If she had done it in the morning, I wouldn't have been so brave. And, she never gave me a preshot in the 40's. I wouldn't have shot 40's. I don't think I ever had to shoot 50's, but I would have done that if I needed to. 40's, no. I'm firmly convinced that shooting the +12's was one of the things that helped Lucy finally turn the corner toward OTJ.

So... if you had shot the 60 at +12, you would have fed then. She may or may not have kept dropping after food, but if you tested at +0.5 or +1 and she was dropping you could HC. Probably by the time the Lantus kicks in she would have been back into the 60's or even higher.

That's just one approach, but it worked for some of us. :smile: Though now that she's in the 40's, you sure don't want to shoot right now.

Actually Libby that sounds pretty good. I would have shot the 66 except that Tess dropped so much after the +9 of 112. And it wouldn't have helped the other times, because she was in the 40s and 50s.

Do you think I should shave the dose to .5u? I was wondering when I raised it last weekend if I went a little too far. She has now had 2 of the three <50 tests. Or should I wait for the third? Before the raise she had been at .35u or a double skinny .5u .

I just reread your post Libby, I am also OK w/ shooting high, 50s a little leery still about the low ones.

Tess is holding at 66 and I fed her another 3/4 oz of 8% Rabbit. But she was much more interested in the roasted chicken I picked up for my dinner.

Hmmmmm, maybe i do deserve a nice glass of Pinot!

Ok Tess - 66 is a nice number to hold onto - OK? No lower now - maybe up a little, so your bean can relax, put her feet up, open that pinot....

roasted chicken? mannie would be so there. He's been known to steal that from dinner plates - sneaky little bugger that he is.
