Yesterday.

Bounce! We had a poop overnight which is great but Ruby threw up again this morning, second time in three days. It’s in the morning every time so I may start leaving her a little snack in an auto feeder overnight to see if she goes for it as it might just be an acidic tummy.

Hope everyone has a great day. It’s Friday! :bighug:

Hi Katherine. I know you know that SEB can help with acid tummy. Do you think she'd eat food with a little of that in it? I know you are not a fan of daily pepcid.

Yes, I was thinking of putting a little SEB in her overnight snack. I’m not against Pepcid, but I have Cerenia and that won’t mess with her gut biome as much. I am going to try the SEB overnight first as Cerenia every day is expensive.

I found that splitting the dose of Prednisolone resulted in exacerbation of issues for T. It may not be the issue for Ruby but when I saw that the vomiting seems to have started with the change in dosing, I wanted to share my experience in case it may be the problem. Again, it may not be the issue, but before changing or adding other therapies, it may be worth trying to go back to the higher dose 1X/day for a few days and see if it results in an improvement in symptoms.

The vomiting started before the change in pred dose so that’s why I haven’t blamed it on that. :( She’s been eating super well so I am chalking it up to morning acid tummy.

Katherine, what pred dose are you down to now. I see 5 mg. on your sig. And I know you went as high as 7.5 right? Any lower than 5 mg? When will Ruby be due for a recheck/ultrasound? Do you have upcoming appointments scheduled?
Just saw your comment on yesterday's condo, Suzanne! We are doing 2.5 mg twice a day. I need to change my signature. I did go up to 7.5 but the oncologist wanted it to be reduced back to 5 again because of the diabetes, and then to twice a day 2.5 mgs because of the diabetes. I have another appointment with the oncologist on August 17 for recheck, and the ultrasound will be 6 months after her last one, which will be in December.

Aside from the vomiting, Ruby is doing well. I picked her up yesterday and it seems like she's gained more weight in the past few weeks. Will weigh her and see exactly how much. Any weight gain is good.

PMPS = 131. Big drop from +9 after being flat all day. Was very hungry and ate up all her food. Plugged in the Feliways so expect to see somebody being a little nicer to her sister. Took out the autofeeder and clicked open the doors (I have the two compartment kind) and Ruby came zooming into the room so at least I know she still remembers the sound and will eat from it if hungry overnight. :)

Evening Katherine, I hope leaving Ruby a little snack overnight will do the trick
I didn't know Olive was taking Cerenia also, yes a lot of money
When Perry was taking it everyday, I told my vet that I was going to ask the owner who I've also been to before I know him well if he could give me a break on the Cerenia, I was surprised he did . I got the 24 mgs and cut them in half , that's what Perry took, I bought 2 packs of 4 pills and paid 32.00 for them.
Do you think they could give you a break on them
I hope she did gain some weight , let's see what Miss Ruby weighs tomorrow
Have a good night Katherine , give Ruby kisses for me ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Edit, just saw the 131 yeah Ruby, I'm glad she ate all her din din:p
Good girl Ruby, but you better be nice to your sister , and I'm glad you pooped

I have the 24 mg tabs. I break them in half for Ruby and then cut ½ again to make quarter tabs for Olive who weighs a lot less than Ruby. I get them from VetRxDirect and it's the same price as the 16 mg tabs I get from the vet (around $18) so I feel like I'm getting a deal. $32 is great!

That is a good price, If I had any left over from Perry I would send them to you

I should have seen this coming and fed her some MC at preshot. Ruby is making me feel a bit like a newbie these days!
Haha, i saw that lime and i was surprised, i thought that didnt happen with Ruby in a very long time, Katherine must have been shocked and scared :D
We got so used to Chico’s higher greens too, so when he gets a lower one (like 58) my hands are shacking haha

hope eating later in the cycle will help Ruby with vomiting :bighug:
