Good morning all! Ugh! Lucky is not responding to Lantus as well as Charlotte did. :( I have yet to get him consistently out of the yellows and pinks. He is always after me for food and I know that is because he is not regulated. But at what point is the food hiking up these numbers? It seems like a vicious cycle! :banghead:

Hi. Can you put your name in your signature so we know what to call you? Maybe lucky just needs smaller meals more often. My Susie is about 13 5 lbs and I'm trying to get her down to 12. Based on that she needs about 180 calories a day which is only 2 cans of her FF pate a day. I'll give her 1/2 can at AMPS and PMPS and .75 oz (1/4 a can) at +3 and .75 oz at +6 which is usually around her nadir time. I know it is not recommended to feed after nadir. At night, along with her 1/2 can at PMPS I'll give her 1/4 can at +2 and 1/4 can around +4 or +5. Just a suggestion. Looks like you have plenty of experience with a diabetic cat when I see Charlotte's ss. Is she still with you? Is she still in remission?

hi! Yes Charlotte is still with us and she is still in remission. Thank God for that!! :) Lucky is a big cat was bigger before all of this. I usually give him 4 cans of FF throughout the day. I think I’ll have to make sure that if he is pestering me that I only give him the 0 carbs if he is running in the yellows. He is not as easy as Charlotte was. Ugh! I think he is more carb sensitive than she was. Thanks for chiming in! Robin

Okay, now I have a name. I'll try to remember that, Robin. I'm sorry you have had two cats with this horrendous, unpredictable disease. Every cat is different. Good that you went through this with Charlotte before being challenged by your Lucky. Is that Charlotte or Lucky in the picture? Looks a tad like my Susie. Do you have any tests for Lucky today. I only see yesterdays in the ss.
