Good morning LL!

Yesterday was a good day. I was able to get more testing done.

For those of you who didn't know that we were on an OTJ trial, neither did I! With all the stuff that was going on in LA, I had to skip some shots for a few days straight. Before I knew it, here we are, bumbling our way into an OTJ trial.

This morning Junior did something that made me rub my eyes and do a double take. Not only did he let me test him without a towel restraint, he was also purring. Who is this cat and what have you done with Junior? And of course this happens as it looks like Junior may be officially OTJ soon. Better late than never!

I have some friends in town and won't be able to visit condos today. But I am thinking of you guys, especially Rocket.

Looks to me like you're on Day 8. You better get some photos together in a hurry for CD.

Here are the OTJ trial instructions:
  • Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
  • If he is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!
Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Beautiful #s for Junior!!! I'm glad that he's starting to feel, and act, more like his former self. :-D Wishing for continued success for him and you. You're on the right track! Have a great day, guys!

Wow that is amazing! Junior is one smart kitty. He gets himself off the juice just so his Bean won't poke his ear any longer! And what is so funny now he doesn't mind it and even purrs!

Congratulations to Bonnie and Junior on OTJ Day 8!

Hey! Congratulations! Stealth OTJ trial, huh?

I'll be sending you a PM with more info. :-D

Oh wow! We were on OTJ and I didn't even know it! Poor Junior, stuck with a bean like me.

Definitely not in any hurry for remission. If he's back on the juice b/c of the radiation treatment for his hyperthyroidism, it isn't the end of the world.
